Brewbakers Cafe – Keene, New Hampshire

Keene

I grew up in Keene, New Hampshire, and actually started my epic collegiate experience at Keene State. So I have nothing but good memories of this relatively tiny blip on the radar. Keene New Hampshire is a relative “hub” of commercial, economic, civic, and cultural activity in the region and Keene has many wonderful local places for the curious consumer to check out. One of these wonderful destinations is Brewbakers Café (97 Main Street Keene, NH 03431). Step in early to the Brewbaker’s Café and you might find reporters from the Keene Sentinel; the local daily; fielding opinions for a story they may be working on. Come back to Brewbakers Café a little later on and find heated chattering cliques of local college students; debating the issues of the day; or solitary students stoically studying their homework.

Keene is a great town with a lot of history. It’s almost as though people moved here and the movement into the modern age has taken its time. Just next door to Brewbakers Café is Main Streets old Colonial Theatre which shows off-beat films, theatre, live music, and hosts speakers as well. When you’re in Keene New Hampshire and you’re coming in to see the sights; Brewbakers Café can be your central depot for charging up with breakfast and your morning coffee; your mid-morning refill, your lunchtime espresso, your evening tea, or your end of the day latte.

Brewbakers Café also has a whole bunch of locally grown food options to suit any appetite. The baked selections at Brewbakers Café are from the regionally known Bob’s Bread goods. A recent peek at the Brewbakers Café menu shows all manner of options: chicken pot pie, chicken & rice soup, beef barley, broccoli tomato & cheddar quiche, and so much more. If you’re looking to go all organic, you can do that at Brewbakers Café as well as the café brews Terra Nova Organic Coffee.

Brewbakers Café is also located in New Hampshire; so you can bet that every four years the Presidential hopefuls pander to the voters of Keene. Recently found at Brewbakers in the 2008 election cycle were the likes of Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, Barack Obama as well as Republican Presidential hopeful Dennis Kucinich.

Currently running every Sunday night at 5PM is the Brewbakers Café open mic night. Come on down to Brewbakers Café, sign up, and speak your piece. All voices are welcome at this local weekly event.

Brewbakers Café is the hub of Main Street café activity in Keene New Hampshire. If you’re excited about good coffee, good times, and great memories, you should certainly step inside Brewbakers Café and see what’s going on!
