Book Review – True Blood

Charlaine Harris, Compton

True blood is based on books written by Charlaine Harris. Right now there are nine books to the series. Dead until dark, Living dead in Dallas, Club dead, Dead to the world, Dead as a doornail, Definitely dead, All together dead, From dead to worse and Dead and gone.
Each book tells the story of Sookie Stackhouse a barmaid that works in a small town called Bon Temps in Louisiana. She is a telepath and can hear peoples thoughts. To her, she thinks its a curse but to her vampire boyfriend Bill Compton he thinks its an ability that fits her greatly.
Bill Compton had walked into the bar where Sookie worked one night and almost ended up dead. With Sookie’s help she saved him. Some days later he returned the favor and saved her after she ended up getting a very bad beating. She’s never ment a vampire before in person but, something about Bill got her cerious to want to know more.
With the series on HBO, they bring the books to life. You can see that they follow the first book very carefully. There are a few changes in the show itself but, it still does good in following the books.
I will say that there is plenty of sex in the show. Some also in the books. But, mostly its about a mystery going on it the small town of Bon Temps. People are getting murdered and Sookies brother Jason. He gets accused of he murders because he had been with the women.
When the author herself came up with the idea of bring mystery and vampires together. To me it wasn’t a bad idea. The books are will written and the show True Blood is will written to copy what the author has written. I would say if your into vampires or love a good mystery then giving the books as will as the series a chance would be very much worth your while.
The whole series makes you want to know what is going to happen next to Sookie and Bill. You’ll want to keep your face pasted to the television tell its done and wait tell next time for it to come back on. And if ou get a chance, go out and get the books and read them. They’ll fill in some of the blank places that aren’t in the series on television and make you even more interested in wanting to watch it more.
