Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips VS. Ponds Clear Solutions Clear Pore Strips

Biore, Ponds

If there is one thing about my skin that makes me crazy, it’s those icky blackheads on my nose. I cleanse, exfoliate, tone and occasionally use a deep cleaning mask and still I am plagued with these clogged pores that seem almost impossible to banish for good. I recently tried both Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips and Ponds Clear Solutions Clear Pore Strips. Both products delivered the promised results, although one is definitely my preferred choice.

Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips cost me $5.99 for eight strips. I have used Biore products in the past and have always been pleased with their performance, so that was the first brand I was drawn to among the several selections on the drugstore shelf. Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips are very easy to use. Remove them from the package and apply to a thoroughly wet nose. The key direction to follow is making sure there isn’t any part of the nose that is dry or else the strip will not stick. Smooth the strip with your fingers so that it is smooth against the skin with no air bubbles. Leave in place for at least ten minutes until the strip hardens, then carefully remove. I followed the directions to a T and was pleased to see that my nose instantly looked clearer and the strip had removed the debris that had been clogging the pores on my nose. I had absolutely no problems with the first application and was quite pleased with the results.

Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips are not recommended to be used more than twice a week. I waited four or five days before using again. My nose still looked relatively clear, but I wanted to maximize the results and hopefully prevent new pores from becoming clogged. Once again, I followed the instructions outlined on the package, but this time I was not nearly as pleased with the results. After removing the pore strip, there was an area on the side of my nose that was red, raw and looked like a patch of skin was removed along with the strip. This area was painful to the touch and stayed bright red for several days. Needless to say, I put the Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips box under the bathroom sink and decided not to try it again. Although I was pleased with the way it cleared out the pores on my nose, I am sort of partial to keeping the skin on my face.

Several weeks later, I was ready to try again. I still wanted the deep cleansing effect that the Biore product delivered, but also would be gentle on my skin. I decided to try the Ponds Clear Solutions Clear Pore Strips. Ponds offers an array of beauty products and has been in existence for a very long time, so I was confident in plunking down more money on a similar product.

Again, I removed the strips from the package, applied to my wet nose and waited the required time. My children were now getting used to seeing their mom with a white strip across her face and found it quite amusing. The dog looked at me kind of funny though. Anyway, after removing the strip, my nose looked clean, clear and a healthy pink. Although I was happy with the results of the Ponds Clear Solutions Clear Strips, I was now jaded from my earlier experience and decided to reserve judgment for at least one more application.

Ponds Clear Solutions Clear Pore Strips also recommend not using more than several times a week, so I waited a few days before trying them again. Again, I applied the strip as directed and waited the required time. The dog was now getting used to my new look and barely gave me a second glance this time around. I removed the strip and was pleased to see that it did a great job in removing the gunk, which I will spare you a description of. The best part was that my skin looked healthy pink and all remained where it is supposed to be. Success! I have since used the Ponds Clear Solutions Clear Pore Strips several more times and have had absolutely no problems.

Ponds Clear Solutions Clear Pore Strips also cost $5.99. The difference is that the package only contains six cleansing strips as opposed to the eight you get with the Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips. Both products delivered fantastic results. If you know your skin is not easily irritated, The Biore brand will save you money. For my sensitive Irish skin, I am “sticking” with the Ponds!
