‘Big Brother’ 12 Episode 16 Recap & Review

Episode 16, House Guests

Rachel and Brendon were on the “Big Brother” chopping block last night, bringing an end to one of the most despised show romances ever filmed on unscripted TV. “Big Brother” 12 Episode 16 included quite a few personality reveals, with the house guests having surpassed the half-way point.

Warning: There are spoilers ahead if you haven’t watched Thursday night’s episode.

1. Rachel vs. Brendon

The Brigade found their smarts last night as they voted out the stronger competitor, Rachel. She was the force to be reckoned with on HoH and competitions. Despite Brendon’s outbursts and antics, he remains in the house, still with a large target on his back.

2. Brendon = An Emotional Rollercoaster

One of the most interesting scenes from “Big Brother” 12 Episode 16 was filmed outside the “Big Brother” house. Brendon’s ex-fiancee confirmed what house guests and BB viewers have noticed: That Brendon is too emotional for a strong man of his age, he’s a bully and he’s controlling. It was eye-opening to watch the ex-fiancee and her family, particularly her mom, watching Brendon’s overly emotional behavior. The ex-fiancee’s mom even said she was glad her daughter did not marry Brendon.

The fiancee warned Rachel, who won’t see the warning until after the show, unless BB lets her watch previous episodes in the jury house. One warning included Brendon’s need to change people. Sure enough, Rachel, who was arguing with Brendon in a previous episode about living in Las Vegas or Los Angeles, vehemently stated, “Rachel is Vegas.” Last night, Rachel told Julie she would move to LA for Brendon.

Previously, Enzo noticed that Brendon was the emotional one and Rachel was being calm after they were both voted out of the bowling competition on Wednesday’s veto competition.

3. Britney

Britney, who shed many tears earlier in the “Big Brother” 12 season, has now gone into anger mode. She and Brendon had it out in a verbal fight. Rather than make her look strong, though, it will put a target on her back as the end draws near and the Brigade continues to pick off the women one by one.

4. The Saboteur Strikes Again

It seems strange that nobody would notice Ragan being called by BB into the voting room, but so far he has not been caught entering or leaving the room to receive his saboteur instructions. He’s on the track to win his $20,000 and, unless someone suspects him, he should be safe next week, as Britney and Kathy, the only two women in the game, will be on the block.

Ragan planted a disturbing seed in the head of the BB house guests: that the person voted out of the house may not really be leaving. One of the last things Julie Chen told Rachel before the end of “Big Brother” 12 Episode 16 was, “This may not be the last you’ve seen of the ‘Big Brother’ house.”

Will BB give the Wicked Witch of Vegas a chance to return to the BB house? It’s unlikely they will change the game play that much, unless it is an event caused by the opening of the next Pandora’s Box.
