Best Winter Skin Care Products Under $10

Baby Sunblock, Flaky Skin, Skincare Tips, Winter Skin Care

Walking in a winter wonderland can be a beautiful experience visually. For your skin, it could also be a frightening experience for dry skin. Even oily skin can become drier in the winter. You have both the dry cold winter air outside and the dry indoor heating sucking the moisture from your skin. Do not fret; here are a few products that combat winter dryness for under $10 a pop.

Inexpensive Dry Skin Cleansers

You have to clean your skin every day. However, you do not have to strip your skin of moisture while cleansing it. You want a cleanser that is gentle and will leave your skin feeling soft after washing it. For the body try Eucerin Skin Calming Body Wash for $6.99 at Target. This body wash gently cleans skin, leaving it feeling soft and it also helps to relieve tight, itchy winter skin. If you have sensitive skin, this is a good body wash to try.

For the face Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Cream Cleanser, $9.99 at Walgreens is an ideal cleanser. I had the pleasure of receiving a full-sized bottle of this as a Klout Perk and it is very gentle on the skin. It does not foam up and it has the consistency of a lotion when applied to wet skin. However, it removes dirt and makeup with ease. I have combination skin and it works well with it not leaving my normally oily zones greasy while soothing my dry zones. I highly recommend using this cleanser if you have very dry skin or flaky patches.

While some of us may skip a moisturizer during the spring and summer, it is a must for winter. When people feel my arms during the winter they ask what body lotion I use. My reply is usually whatever smells good or what was cheapest when I am strapped for cash. The real reason my skin stays soft during the winter is baby oil. I apply it to my body while it is still wet, pat my skin dry and then apply body lotion. You can get baby oil for a dollar at a discount dollar store.

When it comes to my face, I cannot go the baby oil route or I will break out. However, I do use Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturizer, $9.97 at Walmart. This is another favorite I discovered via Klout Perks. If you have oily skin, then a little goes a long way. It says rich moisture but it is not a thick, heavy lotion. It is about medium-weight in consistency. It hydrates skin without leaving it feeling greasy and the moisture lasts throughout the workday.

Do not Forget the Sunscreen

You need sunscreen in the winter as well. Since you are already being so kind to your skin with gentle products that moisturize, keep it up with sun protection as well. The best I’ve used so far for winter sun protection and it is also an Allure Best of Beauty winner, is Neutrogena Pure and Free Baby Sunblock SPF 60 Plus Stick for $8.99 at drugstore.com. The size is small but for your face, it is enough to get you through about a month of use.
