The Shops at Briargate is an upscale outdoor shopping mall which includes many restaurants, household shops and clothing shops. Some of the women’s clothing stores are Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Express, Chico’s, Draper’s and Damon’s, Girl of the Golden West, and Talbot’s. There is plenty of parking and you can enjoy a beautiful mountain view as you shop. There are public restrooms provided in the mall office which are clean and convenient. There are many restaurants to stop for a break and enjoy a cup of coffee and a pastry such as Panera where you can also enjoy a warm fireplace.
Downtown Colorado Springs near the intersection of Bijou and Tejon is a great place to begin. There are some unique places to find things that just are not available at the mall. First there is Terra Verde which has a great variety of boutique type clothing and handbags and is a great place to shop for a special occasion. If you are looking for outdoor Colorado girl type clothing, try Mountain Chalet. Another great boutique to try is Saboz. They carry eclectic handbags, accessories, shoes and jewelry.
ARC on Austin Bluffs: Thrift and Vintage
This is a great place to find vintage and brand names for really cheap prices. They almost always have a great selection of vintage coats made of wool and boucle. They have a great variety of sizes including tons of plus sizes. The store is well-organized by type of clothing and size. They have dressing rooms and shopping carts. Call ahead to see when their next sale is because often they have half-price off everything on Saturdays.
Target has really become the place to go for women’s clothes. They always have guest designers and market styles that mimic the high-end looks of the moment. You can stock up on basic layering T’s and tanks and get work-out clothes for cheap prices. They also have a good selection of baby doll type tops and dresses with prices so low you can afford to wear the latest style. Target is also a great place to get tights and other accessories. They have a costume jewelry section that is so much fun to browse through. All of the costume jewelry is organized by color family and all the accessories that match are right there like silk scarves and hair clips. It takes all the guess work out of accessorizing an outfit.
