Best of American Idol Season 4

Carrie Underwood

With nine seasons of American Idol, it is surprising that performances from years ago are still so memorable. With vocalists like Carrie Underwood and Vonzell Solomon on the show, it is easy to see how season 4 was a season to remember. Let’s take a look at the best moments from season 4 of American Idol.

(1) Carrie Underwood: God Bless the Broken Road Carrie was the first amazing country singer on American Idol. There were a couple season two, but Carrie Underwood’s vocals were so stellar, that she garnered votes from people who didn’t even listen to country music. Her voice is stellar on this ballad! It’s better than the original.

(2) Constantine Maroulis: My Funny Valentine He had his ups and downs on the show, but Constantine showed how amazing he is on Broadway favorites with My Funny Valentine by Rodgers and Hart. We had no idea he could sing this high and change up the melody with such ease until this performance.

(3) Anwar Robsinson: Moon River Anwar seemed like he had a lock on the final after this stupendous performance during the semi-finals of American Idol season 4. His interpretation, phrasing, and runs were an absolute class act. He set the bar so high for himself, it was difficult for him to match after that.

(4) Vonzell Solomon: Treat Me Nice Vonzell can bring the amazing vocals and also performs amazingly. She’s gorgeous and has an impressive range. This is my favorite of her performances, as it showcases her sassy side with this fun, throw back number.

(5) Carrie Underwood: Trouble If you have forgotten about this fantastic performance, then you need to take another look. Carrie Underwood’s vocals are on fire here as she twists and turns around the songs melody like she was an acrobat. Her runs are great and she adds some grit to her always solid vocals.

(6) Nadia Turner: The Power of Love Nadia is still one of the best performers American Idol has ever seen. She had amazing confidence without ever coming off cocky or full of herself. This is her first performance of the semi-finals and it certainly made her an early favorite.

(7) Anthony Federov: If You Don’t Love Me By Now Anthony always had solid vocals, but this performance was even better for him! Him and Carrie Underwood both chose this song on the same night, and it brought her worst vocal on the show and Anthony’s best. It was great to see Anthony triumph over the season favorite.

(8) Bo Bice: Whipping Post We had never had a real rocker on the show, and Bo Bice was the first. This performance was the hardest American Idol had ever rocked before. It was a memorable moment and very refreshing, sing we were used to general pop and r&b; vocals.

(9) Bo Bice: In a Dream This is the first and only time on American Idol that a singer has song a song completely a capella. There were no musicians playing behind Bo Bice as he took center stage with only a single spotlight. It was definitely unforgettable.

(10) Carrie Underwood: Alone Who knew Heart would provide our signature country artist with her best song of the season? Carrie Underwood knows how to rock and she is not afraid to show it! This is still one of the best vocals and performances of all time on American Idol.
