Toyoda Sushi- The great thing about this restaurant is the a la carte sushi and sashimi menu. This allows you to experiment with different types of sushi that you wouldn’t want to normally try and waste money on if you didn’t like it. I know I have found several different types of sushi that I wouldn’t have tried otherwise that are now some of my favorites. Their Miso soup is delicious, and made freshly at the restaurant. Banzai Japanese Restaurant– This is located on the east-side, and is the best Japanese restaurant on the east-side. With their huge menu of over 200 items everyone is sure to find something they will love. The have great teriyaki and tempura, they even have quite a few unusual items such as tempura lobster and teriyaki swordfish. Their teriyaki sauce is the dry Japanese style and takes a little getting used to, its not sweet like most people are used to. They also have a very large selection of sushi. Be sure to try a “Redmond Roll” named after the neighborhood the restaurant in located in. Call for hours or more information at (425) 868-1664

Zen Japanese Restaurant– This restaurant is located in Renton in a very convenient location. This restaurant has a very bright and clean look to it, and the tables are set up so you have some privacy. The sushi bar sits right in the middle of the restaurant, and is very entertaining to watch. The food here is very fresh and very authentic. They have all the traditional Japanese dishes from teriyakis to katsu’s. I love the tempura that they serve here it s light and has a excellent flavor. The Bento Box– This restaurant is also located in Redmond right next to Sears and Fred Meyer. Although The Bento Box has a more limited menu then some of the other restaurants the items that they feature are delicious. This is a Japanese restaurant with a Korean influence. They have great teriyakis and Japanese noodles. My favorite item is their take on a Korean barbecue beef dish. I have never had anything like it anywhere else. The service is great and it is very likely that you will be greeted by the owner or his wife. I love going here, but unless you like crowds I would recommend avoiding it during the lunch rush.
