The Golf Club of Dallas is located at 2200 West Redbird Lane in Dallas. Membership is available by invitation only but, it is definitely worth a try. This member-owned golf course is conveniently located ten minutes away from downtown Dallas.
I was extremely impressed the first time I visited the golf course. The staff members are extremely friendly and very accommodating to their guest. The club house has been newly renovated with elegant and inviting décor.
When I asked staff member, Keith, what sets the Golf Club of Dallas apart from other golf clubs. He proudly bragged about the history that is associated with the golf club. The Golf Club of Dallas has been around since 1953. The Byron Nelson Classic was held there in the 1950s. I also learned that Bert Yancey, Sam Snead and Julius Boros collected trophies there.
The Golf Club of Dallas has several featured social events such as Easter, Mother’s Day and Thanksgiving buffets. There is also a Sunday brunch with a new menu every week.
With amenities such as a pro shop, practice facilities, 19th Hold lounges and knowledgeable teaching professionals available, it’s no wonder why they were chosen for the top 100 Golf courses in Texas in 2008.

Another intriguing golf course in Dallas is the Tension Park Golf Club located at 3501 Samuell Boulevard. In my opinion, the best thing about this golf club is how friendly and helpful the staff is. I also love how they cater to golfers with special needs. The learning center and driving range is wheelchair accessible. The Tension Park Golf Club also has instructors who are trained to teach those with special needs.
This golf course has been in operation since 1924 and has been renovated for the past 11 years. Gary, a staff member bragged about the traditional style of the golf courses. He also stated that the Tension Park Golf Club offers the most premier golf courses in the city.
To receive discounts and special pricing, you will need to register on their user-friendly website.Also,the Tenison Park Golf Club is offering a free round of golf one week before your birthday or one week after. Their normal rates vary by day and time but, the highest rate I’ve seen was $56. Special rates are available for seniors.
