When it comes to local dive bars located in Sanford, Florida you will find quite a large number of them. I have found that the best ones are located right in downtown Sanford and they are all in close proximity to each other.

This bar has an atmosphere that is enjoyable for just about everyone. No matter what your preference you can feel at home and welcomed here. They have an array of music and the crowd changes throughout the night. They have a back room with pool table and every wall in the bar is artistically painted. The bar owner, Doug, is often on the premises and is part of the fun to be had at The Wet Spot. They are a full liqueur bar, so since I am not much of a beer drinker, I can find my Vodka and Cranberry and numerous shots throughout the night. They also have some of the friendliest bartenders and did I mention one of them was voted most hottest bartender by WJRR.

They are a full liqueur bar and they have great specials. I enjoy their jager bombs the best. Monday night they offer Trivia Night with drink specials that can’t be beat. They also are known for their great karaoke nights and they have two beer pong tables ready for you to challenge your friends.

If you are looking for a more relaxed feel then try the Tin Lizzy. You will find a large array of beer and other wine choices. It has recently changed ownership in the past few months. Although the previous owners will be missed lucky for us the new owners decided to keep the Lizzy just as it was. When I walk into the Tin Lizzy Tavern I feel a sense of belonging and where everyone knows your name type of nostalgia. Although they are not a full liqueur bar and have only beer and wine available, I still find it a wonderful place to unwind from a long day.
