Best Burgers, Longhorn, Thousand Oaks

#1 Chris Madrids
3150 SE Military Dr
San Antonio, TX 78223
210-359-6602
Ask anyone around town where the best burgers are and they will tell you to go to Chris Madrid’s. There is tons of indoor and outside space to sit. You come in, order your food, get a number, find a table, and wait for your number to be displayed. You go pick up your food and enjoy your juicy burger. Chris Madrid’s also has a full bar as well. With only one location, make sure you arrive early as the lunch and dinner crowd is pretty large and it may take a while to find a table. Friday and Saturday nights tend to be overly crowded. There are also some arcade games for the little ones to play while you enjoy the atmosphere. While you are there, try to tackle the “Macho Burger!!!” They also have awesome nachos and hot dogs. Another tip, they are closed Sundays.

#2 Chester’s Hamburgers

Chesters has some of the best burgers as well. They serve more than 200 types of beer, hot dogs, fries, and different types of hamburgers. Again here, the lunch and dinner crowd can be quite large so be sure to arrive early so that you have plenty of time to enjoy a great beer and an awesome burger. Chesters also offers chicken sandwiches. They have a large room if you would like to host a meeting or party as well.

Longhorn Cafe also has tons of space indoor as well as an outdoor patio area. You can be sure you will receive tons of food so make sure you are hungry! The cafe serves fish and chicken sandwiches, burgers, fries, tator tots, onion rings; they also have some steak selections and grilled items. At Longhorn Cafe there is a gameroom to keep the kiddos occupied and several TVs if you want to keep your eye on the game while you enjoy your dinner. If you arrive early and are starving…try the fried pickles as an appetizer. You’ll love em! The friendly wait staff will also make your experience pleasurable.

Once you walk into Cheesy Janes you immediately get the feeling you are in a 50’s diner. They have an awesome atmosphere with an electric train running above your heads while you enjoy your dinner. Be sure to order a milkshake while you are there because you will definitely enjoy it. I like to have the double-chocolate or choco-banana shake while I am there. They also have menu items for everyone from salads to hot dogs. They have great tots, fries, chili-cheese fries, nachos and anything else you can think of. Cheesy Janes is a great place to take the family after a long day. You can also sit at the soda bar and come in for a quick drink.

#5 Fatburger

San Antonio, TX 78223

Fatburger is home to all kinds of different burgers. Their beef is some of the leanest available but they also offer turkey burgers and chicken sandwiches. You can order different appetizers, shakes, tots, fries, and definitely try their homeade onion rings. They can’t be beat. If you are really hungry, you can go for the 8-ounce Kingburger. Good luck eating that one!
