Benefits of Listening to Classical Music: What I’ve Learned

Classical, Classical Music, Rock Music

I love classical music. I don’t listen to it as often as I should, but when I do I notice a difference in myself. A lot of people think it is “gay” to listen to classical music, but I feel that people who say that show there ignorance. Not in that people who listen to Classical are smarter, but in that people who view it as bad have no idea of what bennifits they are missing out.

For instantance, when I have a head ache, I listen to a few minutes of classical music and that head ache will gradually feel better and go away. Granted, music with a severe head ache may not be a good idea, classical music does help with that irratating feeling you get when stressed out. There are many other bennifits as well.

Think about your favorite book to read. Have you ever read that book and started to drift off the pages and into a problem you had at work? The whole point to reading was to get away from that very problem you were having. You even start to get a little tired from reading. Now, you put on some classical music. You start by oppenning your i-Tunes player and you go to the radio tab. After you open up the classical section you sit back and relax. Your mind now comfortably beginns to open up and you feel sharper than ever. Your head even feels better because the slight stress you were feeling is now nearly gone. You start to read your book again. One page after another is covered, but you arn’t focussed on the pages anymore. You are so immerssed in the story that you loose track of your activity. The new emotions stricken inside of you from the gripping story make you forget that you even went to work that day. Now you are in that book, on those very pages! When you reach a stopping point in the book, you set it down and realize how much better it was to read with classical music playing in the background.

Realizing this was a little dramatization, the benefits are as good as it sounds. I actually feel the book when I read with classical music playing softly over the noise of the TV in other room.

Not only have I played classical music to find benefits, but I’ve tried also rock music. Rock music was a big mistake! Just as classical music can enhance greatly my ability to read, understand, and feel the pages of a book, rock music made reading completely unejoyable.

Rock music, however, like other forms, has it’s place I feel. Later I’ll discuss some of the other genres of music. Untill then, I hope I have been able to convince you to widen out your choices in music. If you already enjoy classical music, my hope is that I could strengthen your appreciation for it.

All the more, my hope is that I could make people more aware of how music does affect there mind. It is wise to consider what music you listen too. If you had a way to feel better, wouldn’t you use it?
