Benadryl Itch Stopping Cream, Extra Strength Review

Benadryl, Remedies for Poison Ivy

I have to tell you first that I hate Yellow Jackets. I tangled with a nest of them last week when I was mowing my yard. Fortunately I was only stung once in the left heel. For some reason, I developed a red, itchy rash around the sting site. Sometimes I take Benadryl orally. It works like a charm for allergies and rashes. The only bad thing about taking Benadryl is that it knocks me out. Everytime I take a dose, I have to take a nap. Not very beneficial for a busy lifestyle. Read this Benadryl Itch Stopping Cream, Extra Strength review and find out what it did for me instead!

Product Description
Benadryl Itch Stopping Cream, Extra Strength is a white cream that comes in a one-ounce tube. It costs around six bucks. The front of the package tells consumers it’s an “Effective Itch Relief for your Family Ages 2 and up.” This cream can be used for insect bites, skin irritations and minor rashes. I was surprised to read that Benadryl Cream can also be used for minor cuts, burns, sunburn and scrapes. I guess when I think of this brand, I relate it to stopping itching, not healing cuts and scrapes. But the back of the box reads, “…temporarily relieves pain and itching…

Benadryl Itch Stopping Cream, Extra Strength blocks Histamines. That’s what relieves the itching. It contains Diphenhydramine hydrochloride 2%.

Warnings
Besides not using it on children under the age of two, there is a warning not to use it on Measles or Chicken Pox without checking with a doctor first. The box also warns consumers not to use more than directed. The prescribed dosage is to apply Benadryl Cream to the affected area three or four times a day. That sounds sufficient to me.

There is also a warning that reads, “Do not use on large areas of the body or with any other product containing diphenhydramine, even one taken by mouth.” That means you can’t take Benadryl orally and use the cream at the same time. Of course, I don’t know why you would want to.

My Experience
I immediately started using the Benadryl Itch Stopping Cream, Extra Strength as soon as I bought it one day. Because it made the rash, as well as the site of the Yellow Jacket sting stop itching right away, I forgot to reapply it three to four times a day. Since the area wasn’t itching, it was easy to forget about. I applied it twice a day and got the results I was after anyway.

Some creams are greasy and messy. This cream was absorbed quickly into my skin. So I didn’t have to worry about getting this Benadryl on my socks, bed sheets, et cetera.

Results
The next day, the rash had paled from being red to a very light pink. By the next day, it was gone. I ended up using the Benadryl Itch Stopping Cream, Extra Strength two days. I highly recommend this product.

Funny thing was, I noticed an itch on the back of my right leg. When I checked it, I found I had gotten into Poison Ivy. Sigh…it looks like it’s going to be a long Fall. It’s a good thing I bought the Benadryl Itch Stopping Cream, Extra Strength two-pack. It was a good deal because you bought one and got one free.
