Australian Gold makes products to be used in the tanning bed and/or outside. To me, this gives them an advantage because they have a product line for all tanning purposes. There are many different products available, from deep tanning lotion to high-level spf sunblocks.
I came to know about Australian Gold tanning products back in the 1990’s, when I used to tan in tanning beds. I can’t believe I ever did this, because I know I’ve done damage to my skin as a result. However, the one good thing that came out of this was that I discovered a great line of products in Australian Gold.
What does this great company have to offer in its line of products?
The tanning formulas for Australian Gold products are nature-based. They work with your skin to promote a natural tan. Years of research have gone into all products, which means you get a top-notch product in the end. There are different levels of product, so you can choose what’s right for you. The products go from good to better to best to premium to ultra!
I personally have two favorite Australian Gold Products- the spf 30 FaceStick, and the Deep Tanning Accelerator.
Benefits of the Face Stick:
The SPF 30 Face Stick is like a large-sized chapstick. You can carry it around anywhere- it fits in your pocket, small purse, fanny-pack, zippered part of your backpack, etc. Then, you can take it out and put it on your face and neck anytime you will be exposed to the sun. I tend to freckle easily, and when I wear the Face Stick, it seems as if I prevent most of the freckles from surfacing on my face. The stick is not water proof, so you will need to put some waterproof product overtop of it, such as one of the sunblock lotions made by Australian Gold. The Face Stick is a little greasy, but it is a solid, and so it’s less greasy than putting on lotions. It can be applied directly to your face from the container, meaning you won’t get your hands greasy putting it on.
Benefits of the Deep Tanning Accelerator.
The Deep Tanning Accelerator is made for use in tanning beds and outside. I have used it for both. I found in the tanning bed that it helped me achieve a deeper tan. The same results were found with outdoor use. Like the face stick, this product helps me to prevent freckling. The Deep Tanning Accelerator helps your own skin produce more melatin, which is needed for your skin to tan. This not only helps speed the tanning process, but to me also helps the tan be more even and freckling is less. Freckling results when you have an absence of melatin in a certain area.
These two products are great to use to get the ultimate deep tan. They are also recommended for a more even tan with less freckling. I haven’t found any other products that come anywhere close to these for these two purposes. I don’t travel anywhere without them if I will be trying to get a tan. I carry the face stick with me in my purse to use every time I go out in the sun. What many people don’t realize is that you can be exposed to UV rays anytime you are in the sun. This includes driving in your car. I even wear the Face Stick on long drives!
Australian Gold has other great products. Here are some of them:
Mostly for Indoor Use—
1. New Product- Puppy Love. Puppy Love has an intensifier, which promotes your skin’s own ability to tan, and body blush, which brings a quick blushed appearance to your skin through photoreactions.
2. New Product- Funkey Monkey. Funky Monkey has the body blush, but also and anti-wrinkle and firming formula. This helps tone the skin. The most noteworthy component is the bronzer. It has four components that help darken the tan and help it last longer.
3. Good Level Products. These include the Puppy Love and Deep Tanning Accelerator. All products at this line are give the best value for your money. The products also cotaina dark tanning complex called Biosine Complex. It helps promote a tan while minimizing wrinkles with extra skin conditioners.
4. Better Level Products– The Better Products have the Vitasome Complex. This consists of antioxidants and Vitamins A and E. Funky Monkey is in this category.
5. Best Level Products– These products have extreme amounts of moisturizer and are blended with aloe. Vitamins E, A and F are present.
6. Premium Products– Biosine Complex is integrated with CoQ10 and Vitamins A, E and F to help achieve a deep tan that lasts and doesn’t dry out the skin.
7. Ultra Products. You get the advantages of the premium products, and add nutrient oils.
Outdoor Use—
These products contain an SPF factor. They come in the form of lotions, lotions with bronzer, spray gels, spray gels with bronzer, and spray oils.
1. SPF and tanning. You get some protection, but are able to tan as well. I recommend this line if you already have a base tan or you do not burn at all. The SPF is between 2 and 8, which means you can stay out in the sun two to eight times longer than with no protection at all.
2. SPF Regular Protection. These are sunblock products with either SPF 15, 30, or 50. These are best for normal use in the sun when you burn easily or have no prior tan.
3. SPF Xtreme Sport Formulas. I would use these, in SPF 15 or 30, whenever you will be engaging in activity or getting wet like by perspiring. These are sweat proof and water proof and thus provide added protection for physical activity. You get UVA and UVB protection.
4. SPF Baby and Kids Formula. These protect against UVA and UVB rays and are waterproof. I personally would try these even if you aren’t a kid!
AfterSun Use—
1. Tan Extender Moisturizer. This is a lotion that will help prevent peeling and helps moisturize the skin so the tan lasts longer.
2. Freeze Gel with Lidocaine or Freeze Spray Gel. These help cool a sunburn, but also promote moisture in the skin to help the tan last longer.
Overall Recommendation
I recommend these products highly. I think the company has a great reputation and great products. Years of research went into these products, and it shows. When using any Australian Gold product, you will see the added benefits. You get added moisturizing and deeper tanning than with many others on the market. To me, the best advantage is the reduced freckling found by using the Face Stick and Tanning Accelerators. The sunblocks and tanning lotions for outdoor use block UVA and UVB rays, helping with sunblock and anti-aging effects. There are enough products to never have to use any other company for your suntan and sunblock needs!
