Arm & Hammer Essentials Natural Deodorant: Review

Deodorant Review, Natural Deodorants

If I can find a personal care product that is natural, and still does it’s intended job, I will buy it in a heartbeat. Our skin is our bodies largest organ, and I am acutely aware of what I put on my body, lest it end up in my body.

I noticed a new Arm & Hammer deodorant at my grocery store recently, it is their natural deodorant, called Arm & Hammer Essentials. I picked one up, and I have been very pleased with it’s performance.

Description

The deodorant comes in an oval shaped roll up container, and it measures 5 1/4″ x 2 1/4″. It contains 2.5 ounces, and like the Arm & Hammer baking soda we are all so familiar with, this is also packaged with bright gold colors. It has the Arm & Hammer seal directly in the center of the container, which reads “The Standard of Purity” just below it.

Although Arm & Hammer makes other styles of deodorant, in various scents, my store only carried the Essentials Natural Deodorant in the fresh scent.

Thoughts

I love this product! Have you ever been confused by the chemical names ingredients go by these days? Tocopherol means Vitamin E, but does everyone know that? On the back of this deodorant, the upper portion of the label reads “peel here for more information. The label pulls back to reveal a list of ingredients, how they are derived, and what they do! How great is that? Taken from the package:

When I first rolled up this deodorant, it seemed a bit hard, and the edges were sharp. As I have used it, those edges have worn down and become rounded, making it’s application a pleasant experience. The product is a hard, almost clear substance, which has a delightful scent, reminding me of citrus oil. The deodorant rolls up and back down into the tube easily, and there is a good amount of surface area on the product when it’s rolled from the tube – it’s a 1″ x 2″ oval area.

I love that there are no aluminums or other unnecessary chemicals in this product, and yet it works to keep me smelling fresh all day long. This product does not claim to keep you dry, you need an antiperspirant for that, but I don’t perspire a lot and don’t feel like I want to block my sweat glands anyway, since I feel this is one way the body detoxifies itself. I am concerned with odor, and this product provides me with the protection I desire. The product will not leave any of those tell tale white marks on my underarms, therefore I have no worries about those marks transferring onto any of my clothing.

This deodorant was on sale for $2.50, and it is my opinion that it sure rivals any of the highly touted “all natural” deodorants on the market.
