Creamed Spinach, English Peas, Sundried Tomatoes, Vinaigrette

Located at 210 Spring Street, at 6th Avenue, in towering New York City, Aquagrill first opened their doors in 1996. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a little sophistication, a lot of great seafood, and even a little relaxation in the lounge.

Speaking of the lounge, it really is one of the hottest spots where everyone from lovers in love to business professionals trying to unwind from their hectic day frequents. There are pillows strewn here and there, comfortable lighting, and very stylish décor. This isn’t the only place to unwind, of course … there’s the main dining room, where you are about to enjoy some of the most delicious seafood creations in elegant setting.

If you’re stopping in for lunch, served Monday through Friday from Noon to 3pm, start off right with a great appetizer like the Seared Peppered Tuna Carpaccio with avocado, grilled onions and lemon segments, $12.50; Crabcake Salad with mixed greens and chive vinaigrette, $14.50; Warm Octopus Salad with roasted peppers and peppercress in a roasted onion vinaigrette, $11.50; or perhaps a comforting soup like the Manhattan Clam Chowder, $7.50. Try a great sandwich for your main dish, each on the restaurant’s own homemade ciabatta bread and served with fries: Grilled Rare Yellowfin Tuna with avocado, arugula and grilled onions, $12.50; Maine Lobster Sandwich with vegetable slaw and cayenne mayonnaise; Aquagrill Big Burger with onions, lettuce, tomato and pickles, $13; or go for other special seafood dishes like the Fresh Shrimp Fettuccine with Shrimp – has tomato, toasted pine nuts and pesto, $17.50; Roasted Chatham Cod with wilted spinach, baby artichokes, $22.50; or the Grilled Florida Snapper with a sesame-cucumber salad, sauteed bok choy, roasted scallions and shiitake mushrooms in a sesame vinaigrette, $25.50.

If here for dinner, start with an appetizer like the Peppered Tuna Carpaccio with avocado, lemon and roasted bermuda onions, $12.50; or the delicious Roasted Dungeness Crabcake Napoleon with sundried tomatoes oil, $13.50. Or go completely exotic with an ounce of American Royal Sterling Caviar with warm buckwheat blinis and crème fraiche, $95! For your main entrée, enjoy delicious creations like Grilled Atlantic Salmon with a falafel crust, cucumbers, tomatoes and a lemon coriander vinaigrette, $23; Truffle Crusted Casco Cod with wild mushroom ravioli, roasted hen of the wood mushrooms and creamed spinach in a truffle mushroom sauce, $25.50; Bouillabaisse with poached cod, shrimp, mussels, clams, scallops and lobster in a garlic saffron tomato broth, $26.50; or perhaps the Pan Seared Alaskan Halibut with an apple-crab salad, white asparagus, sautéed swiss chard and english peas in a warm apple bacon vinaigrette, $27.

There’s also a nice offering of A La Carte items, either grilled, poached or roasted, like Dry Aged Sirloin Steak, Free Range Chicken, Australian Barramundi, or perhaps Chatham Cod. And other a la carte side items include tasty vegetables like sautéed spinach, steamed snow peas, grilled asparagus, and so forth.

For your drink, try something simple like fresh squeezed orange juice … or go for a great cocktail like the Aquabite, $8.25 (chilled ketel one with a splash of grape fruit and cranberry juices, triple sec and fresh lime juice), or perhaps the Bloody Mary or Bombay Royale! Or enjoy one of the restaurant’s delicious chilled shakes like the fruity Kaori Junmai Ginjyo, the creamy Tozai “Snow Maiden” Junmai Nigori, or the Japanese Sato No Homare “Pride Of The Village” Junmai Ginjyo.
