Calgel Nails is primarily a UV gel polish put onto your nails with a tiny brush and allowed to soak. It must be cured with a UV lamp after each layer and allowed to completely dry. Each layer is thin, so the completed job will be also, unlike a few overlays I’ve encountered.
Calgel only needs a little nail plate buffing before using the gel coat or sculpting; it doesn’t need any primer. Your own nails won’t be harmed by filing or use of strong chemicals. You’ll need acetone-free remover for cleaning off the clear top layer; next, cover the Calgel with ordinary enamel if you’d like a change of hue. Clean off the polish with this remover, and the Calgel will stay on, completely unchanged.
Taking the polish off isn’t so great but less than awful. Return to the nail salon and let them do it, or try it on your own. To take it off: buff the Calgel using a 180 grit file/buffer.
