Bianca, David Foster, Patti Labelle

We are now in the second season of America’s Got Talent and there are some pretty good finalists this year and I have predictions on who will be in the top five, but let’s talk about our first millionaire winner, Bianca Ryan. Bianca was born in 1994 in Philadelphia to Shawn and Janette Ryan.Bianca is part Irish from her dad’s side and Japanese from her mother’s side. She has three other siblings and is the second oldest. Her older brother is Shawn, and Isabella and Jagger and the youngest. Her singing is so good that it made Brandy comment:”Makes me want to go practice…that’s how good you are.”

At just eight years old she took a liking to gospel and r&b; music which she practiced in her basement. It made her father comment:”Who is that black woman who just got into my daughter’s body?” Her favorite singers are Patti LaBelle, Kelly Clarkson, Mariah Carey and Yolanda Adams. Yolanda was actually her vocal coach for the finals in America’s Got Talent. Her debut CD came out in 2006 entitled Bianca Ryan. It made it in to the Billboard at the 57th spot. Next, she did a Christmas EP called Everyday! which was a Walmart giveaway to customers. Before her CD came out, she was given a key to the city, and the Mayor, John F. Street made it “Bianca Ryan Day” November 13 in Philadelphia.

Bianca started out as a tap-dancer, but at eight years old she wanted to go on Star Search in 2003. She only made 12 stars. Tiffany Evans won, so her father sent Bianca to her vocal coach, Sal Dupree. Other television shows that Bianca has been on were Showtime At The Apollo, commercials, Chuck E. Cheese’s. Some performances she has done were at Madison Square Garden, the National Building Museum for President George W. Bush and the First Lady Laura Bush and singing the national anthem many times including, the New York Nicks, and the Philadelphia 76ers. Bianca was also in the film 12 and Holding as the ‘Singing girl’, directed by Micheal Cuesta.

The song that got everyone floored by Bianca was when she sang “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going” sung by Jennifer Holliday, from Dreamgirls. David Hasselhoff called her a star and commented, “Get on you feet for this girl!” This April, her audition was one of the 100 Top Rated music videos on YouTube.
She went to New York to meet with major record label reps and the best songwriters. It was said that she met with David Foster and Peter Rudge is her manager.

After that she began recording her first CD with songs of covers such as “The Rose”, and “I Believe I Can Fly” as well as original songs. Bianca has a five-record deal with Simon Cowell’s company SYCOmusic, which is part of Columbia Records, SONY BMG. Bianca is the very first American Artist to sign with his company.
