AMC Summer Movie Camp — Great Fun for Kids

Amc, Amc Theaters

Are you thinking ahead to summer break and what your kids will be doing? Have you been trying to figure out how you can possibly keep your kids entertained all summer long? Well, here’s one event that will keep your kids occupied. If you have an AMC Movie Theater nearby, your kids can be busy every Wednesday morning.

Perhaps you think you can’t afford to take your kids to the movies every week. Think again. AMC Theaters is offering an AMC Summer Movie Camp for kids, and the movie tickets cost only $1.00 each! That is a great savings when compared to a regular movie ticket price–and really, you can’t even rent a movie for that price. And why would you want to? This movie camp will get your kids out of the house and doing something fun.

Aside from the savings on the ticket prices, the AMC Summer Movie Camp also offers a special deal on refreshments. After all, a lot of kids will want to have some snacks and a drink while they watch the movie. Camp-goers can get an AMC KidsPack for only $3.00 (which is a savings of $2.75). An AMC KidsPack includes a kid’s-size drink, popcorn, and snack. Kids also have the option of upgrading their snack to a regular candy for an extra $1.00.

As with previous years of the AMC Summer Movie Camp, the theater has lined up some pretty fun movies that are sure to appeal to kids. Movies are shown each Wednesday during the summer at 10 a.m. Here is the schedule of movies that will be shown:

On the AMC Summer Movie Camp website, parents can print out a word search and coloring page for their kids to do. These activities can be found here. Kids can also Meet the AMC Summer Movie Camp animals on the website if they go here.

In previous years, the AMC Summer Movie Camp has offered movies free-of-charge to kids. But, this year the plan has changed. The $1.00 fee that AMC Theaters is charging for admission is not so that the theater can earn a profit, though. It is for charity. The proceeds from all tickets will benefit the Will Rogers Institute and Variety–The Children’s Charity.

By having the proceeds benefit a charity, this gives parents a good opportunity to discuss charity work with their kids. It can really open up a dialogue about how important it is to donate to worthy causes. This is a great conversation to have with children–and even young children can understand about charity if it is explained in simple terms.

The AMC Summer Movie Camp is a great deal of fun for kids to attend. Sure, most kids love to go to to movie theater on any occasion–but, with the movie camp, the theater will be filled with other kids. Kids watching funny movies with other kids–what could be more fun?
