Alba’s Coconut Cream Lip Balm

Animal Testing

One of my favorite lip balms is from the company Alba.

Many of you might have never heard of this company. Alba is a cosmetic company that delivers great products without artificial ingredients or animal testing. They also offer vegetarian ingredients in their products.

I really turned to them when I wanted to start incorporating more natural products into my everyday routine. I know that a lot of my products have artificial colors and additives, and I wanted a few things that I would use every day that didn’t. Because I only wear makeup a few times a week and lip balm most every day, I thought getting a great lip product would be a great start.

Alba’s “Coconut Cream Lip Balm” was a favorite from the start.

I think this retails for about $3 at most stores. I have seen then at both Wal-Mart and Target, which are retailers that most everyone has in their neighborhood.

I really like the packaging of these balms. It is your standard lip balm tube; the one main thing is that it twists from the top and not the bottom, which is something I actually like. You get 4.2 grams of balm per tube. I use this balm all the time and still have tons of product left. For only $3, this balm does last a long time, even with frequent application.

The only thing that I have found is that if you screw too much product out, it might be impossible to screw back down. For some reason, a lot of balms seem to get stuck in one position. Since this has happened with other brands, I cannot really complain about this brand.

All of the ingredients in this balm are natural and many are certified organic. Some of the ingredients included are coconut oil, jojoba oil, and beeswax.

Jojoba oil has been in a lot of cosmetics recently because this oil is the closest to the oil that our bodies produce. Coconut oil and beeswax are great bases for many balms and I find these really moisturizing as well.

This balm smells amazing. I really love coconut fragrances and flavors and this one is one of the top ones. I really think this is a great almost tropical coconut smell. This is really fantastic for summertime. The scent also lingers on your lips for sometime afterwards.

The one thing that isn’t great about this summer type balm is that there is no SPF. I find that I don’t usually wear these outside much and usually around my home, so the SPF is no big deal, but for others this might be something they are looking for.

I use this at night, before I go to bed just to give me soft lips when I wake up and throughout the day to keep them soft and plump.

I do not think this would work if your lips are extremely dry or wind burned, but it could work well just to sooth and moisturize the lips.

I think this is just a product to maintain the softness and to help prevent normal drying or cracking that many of us can get.

This balm is extremely smooth. Maybe one of the smoothest formulas I have tried out. It really coats the lips well.

The balm is a little thicker than some, but I like this consistency. It is thick, but soft and it warms up and melts into your lips very easily and quickly. I can still feel the balm on top, but I do tend to use more than I usually would of other brands.

There is no animal testing and there are a lot of different scents to choose from.

I really like this balm and this is a great buy for those looking for something more natural. I think this would also be great for little ones who might “eat” more balm than what stays on their lips and because it is natural, you won’t have to worry so much.
