Adult Swimming Lessons in Denver, Colorado

Swimming Classes, University of Denver

If you didn’t have the opportunity to learn how to swim as a child, you may want to learn now that you are an adult. Or perhaps you want to conquer your anxiety about water and become more confident in the water. Adult swimming classes are a good way to learn how to swim, to conquer anxiety, and to become more confident in the water. Many facilities in Denver, Colorado offer adult swimming lessons.

Starfish Swim School: The Starfish Swim School offers swimming classes for adults. While the school follows its own curriculum, they do individualize programs based on students’ needs and past experiences. Skills and techniques learned in the class include: general safety and comfort with the water, going underwater, front float, back float, going from a front or back float position to a standing position, movement in the water, kicking on the front and the back, freestyle arm action, backstroke arm action, side kicking, and head rotation.

Additionally, if you had a bad experience in the past with water or if you are fearful around water, you can tell your instructor on the first day of class and he or she will take this into consideration when developing a swim lesson plan for you.

Group swimming lessons at Starfish Swim School are $15 per week, once-a-week 30-minute private lessons are $60 per week, and semi-private lessons are $30 per week. You must pay for one month of swimming lessons at the time of registration in order to be put on the schedule. In addition, there is a once-a-year administrative fee of $25 to cover administrative costs, insurance, and pool time.
