August is a busy month for all parents. The back to school shopping can be all consuming with endless supply lists, trying to find the best prices, and buying school clothes. All private schools and some public schools require their students to wear uniforms. This will help in narrowing the decisions on what your children can and cannot wear, but it does not help on the best places to buy uniforms.

The Schoolbelles’ polo shirts fade much slower than the less expensive brands you can buy. I would rather buy uniforms only once or twice a year as opposed to buying shirts or pants every other month because of fading. You can also purchase sweatshirts and sweaters that are monogrammed with your school’s emblem. If you have girls, you may not have much of choice but to purchase your uniforms here.
Along with the required uniforms, Schoolbelles also sells gym uniforms, shoes, hosiery, backpacks, and other school supplies. You can get your school’s emblem monogrammed on backpacks and pencil cases. The prices on these additional items are higher than at discount stores. I have bought uniform pants and shirts at other department and discount stores. The prices are normally cheaper than the prices at Schoolbelles. The quality is a different story. The only other brand of uniform pants that I have found to be just as durable is Izod. Izod is sold at department stores such as Macy’s and JC Penney’s. However, the normal price for Izod uniform pants are higher than at Schoolbelles. The only way that I have seen these pants for less is when they are on sale.
I have also had problems finding the proper size shorts and pants for my kids. I have tried to order these items through the department store’s catalogues only to find out that they no longer carry that size or style.
