A Review of Cook’s Essentials Cookware

Cookware, Stainless Steel Cookware

Purchasing a new set of cookware usually takes a lot of research and money. More times than not, people end up purchasing a set of cookware that they are unhappy with and is nothing like what they expected. This leads people to be extremely skeptical of buying cookware from a shopping network. When my mother purchased a set of Cook’s Essentials cookware from QVC, she too was skeptical of the product, wondering if it would live up to QVC’s claims. That purchase was almost 10 years ago and to this day I don’t think my mom would give up her Cook’s Essentials cookware for any other brand. There are several reasons to love this cookware. Before I tell you all the advantages of Cook’s Essentials cookware, I must confess that there is only one disadvantage. The enamel coated Cook’s Essentials cookware doesn’t have the weight of the other types of Cook’s Essentials cookware. For this reason, this review will stick to the other types of Cook’s Essentials cookware.

The Look and Feel

The look of Cook’s Essentials is stunning. I must admit, that I prefer the regular stainless steal sets over the stainless steal 500 sets, because the lids are clear. The look of the clear lids, to me, is more appealing than the solid stainless steal lids. Regardless of which set you choose, you will receive pans that have a beautiful curve that is not only pleasing to the eye, but also allows you to better stir your foods.

You will not believe the weight of Cook’s Essentials cookware. Heavy cookware is a sign of quality and Cook’s Essential’s cookware is no exception. The weight of this cookware comes from the thick sides and bottoms, which allow for even heating. Anyone who has ever owned cheap cookware will appreciate the fact that when you drop a piece of Cook’s Essential’s cookware, it will not bend. The lids will also not break when dropped.

The Features

Non-Stick Interior

Many pans claim to be non-stick, but you still find yourself adding cooking spray to keep your eggs from sticking. Cook’s Essentials cookware is different though. The Cook’s Essentials cookware is sprayed with a DuPont coating that not only makes it non-stick, but also makes it safe for metal utensils.

Metal Utensil Safe

Even though people hear that Cook’s Essentials cookware is metal utensil safe, many are afraid to actually use metal utensils in their new pans. These people have a good reason of being afraid to use metal utensils in a non-stick pan. They have probably used these utensils in other non-stick pans only to have the non-stick coating come off in their food. This doesn’t happen with Cook’s Essentials though. These pans can handle metal utensils and the non-stick coating will not come off. The pans may show marring, but the non-stick coating will remain intact.

Oven Safe

Another great feature of these Cook’s Essentials cookware is the fact that you can put them in the oven. The regular stainless steal sets can withstand heat up to 350 degrees, while the stainless steal 500 sets can withstand heat up to 500 degrees. I find this feature very useful when cooking thick cuts of meat. You can brown the meat of the stovetop and then transfer the pan directly to the oven for the meat to continue cooking.

Cost

This is quite possibly my favorite feature. Cook’s Essentials cookware can be purchased for under $200. In fact, you can get a 10 piece set of the original stainless steal for only $108. These sets are well worth your money. You will not be disappointed with this cookware and if you are, you can always return your purchase with QVC’s 30 day money back guarantee.
