A New Neopian’s Guide to Faerie Quests

Faeries, Neopoints

Faerie quests are very fun for most Neopians. However, if you aren’t sure whether or not you should accept the quest, you would be better off without it. Older Neopians usually know when to accept and when to refuse, but how can you gain this knowledge? Read the following article, which explains the different types of quests, along with their benefits and drawbacks.

First of all, you must have a basic knowledge of the nine faeries. There are six regular faeries and three rare ones; they all give quests randomly. These faeries do not let you use the shop wizard during a quest, so you would be better off going to the Quest Help neo-boards and asking someone to search a shop for you. If you’re lucky, the item will be cheap. If you’re very lucky, someone will just give it to you (don’t ask people to give it to you, however, you’ll get reported!) The regular faeries are: Water Faerie, Fire Faerie, Dark Faerie, Earth Faerie, Air Faerie and the Light Faerie. The rare faeries include: the Space Faerie, the Queen Faerie (also known as Fyora), and the Rainbow Fountain Faerie. There are also the three faeries that you choose to do quests for (they are not random). Those faeries are: Taelia, Illusen, and Jhudora. The more quests you do for them, the higher your quest level goes up, and eventually you can get a fabulous reward.

Water Faerie

If you get a Water Faerie quest, she will almost always ask for you to get a book. In return for the book, she gives your active pet two defense points. If you are not into battledoming, then you would probably be better off refusing this quest.

Fire Faerie

This faerie will always ask for an item of clothing, such as a bow tie or a shirt. She will grant your active pet two strength attack points. Again, if you’re not into battledoming, then you may be better off refusing, unless the item is extraordinarily cheap.

Dark Faerie

She will ask for a toy, which is usually a plushie. If you accept and complete the quest, then your active pet will gain two hit points (increases endurance in battle). If you don’t battle, then you probably won’t want to complete this quest.

Earth Faerie

This kind faerie will be asking you for a magical item, such as a mote or a potion. In return, she will feed your active pet. In addition, she will restore his lost hit points. However, if your pet is healthy and full, then you will want to decline this quest (the items are usually expensive).

Air Faerie

This faerie is all about beauty. She will request a grooming product, such as shampoo or a brush. In return, your active pet will gain two agility points. Again, these stats are useless unless you love the battledome.

Light Faerie

This faerie will request a trading card. If the card is too expensive, then you should decline, but if you complete this quest, your pet will gain one level.

Space Faerie

This faerie will ask for any item known to Neopia. Most likely, it will be a very rare and expensive item. However, it’s usually worth it. She grants your active pet four levels and you also get the privilege of gaining her as a battledome challenger. She is extremely hard to beat, but if you do, you get the rare Space Faerie avatar!

Queen Fyora (Queen Faerie)

This faerie also asks for any Neopian item. It’s going to be rare and it’s going to be expensive. And again, it’s usually worth it. By completing one of Fyora’s quests, your active pet will gain seven different stats. Usually this includes levels and strength.

Rainbow Fountain Faerie

This faerie will ask you for an item of 90-99 rarity. This means that the item you will be buying is very expensive. However, in return, you will be given access to the Rainbow Fountain! There, you may paint your active pet any color possible (excluding the ultra rare ones such as royal). Considering the fact that several paintbrushes are over half a million neopoints, this is one quest you definitely want to try to complete. This quest is infinite; you may keep it until you earn enough neopoints for the requested item. I have actually had a Rainbow Faerie quest; she asked me for a white chocolate peach. The item cost me 145,000 neopoints, but in return, I painted my strawberry poogle into a pirate poogle. If I had saved for the pirate paint brush, I would have had to save over two million neopoints!

The other faeries (the ones you choose to do quests for, they’re not random) allow you to use the shop wizard while on a quest, but they do not give as valuable rewards as the random quests do. It’s always up to you to decide whether or not you want to do a quest. If you’re all about saving your neopoints and you don’t really care about your pets’ stats, you will most likely reject most of the quests. However, if you have a bottomless bank account and you want pets with high stats, then you will probably accept most of the quests. Happy questing!
