A Consumer Review of Progresso Vegetable Soup

Progresso, Vegetable Soup

Health Factor
Progresso Vegetable Soup is one of the healthiest food products that you can eat. It has only 80 calories and a reasonable amount of sodium. Progresso Vegetable Soup has nearly zero fat, no cholesterol and even includes some nutritional value. This vegetable soup provides lots of Vitamin A, but little calcium and Iron. Progresso Vegetable Soup is suitable for men and women who are dieting and those who are not concerned about their weight.

Quality
The Vegetable flavor is part of a “Vegetable Classics” line of Progresso soup. I was pleased with the quality of this food product after purchasing it from the grocery store. Progresso Vegetable Soup contains rotini pasta, broth, green beans, tomatoes, corn carrots, celery and peas. There seems to be an equal amount of pasta and vegetables in each serving. I was especially pleased with the fact that Progresso Vegetable Soup did not saturate this food product with vegetables and then sprinkle a few pieces of pasta in it.

That would have been disappointing because the roniti pasta is one of the most prevalent ingredients on the front cover of each Progresso Vegetable Soup can. This food product is filling, making you less likely to snack unnecessarily throughout the day. I have especially enjoyed the ability to prepare Progresso Vegetable Soup in two different ways. It can be heated on the top of a stove in small saucepans or in a microwave. This is the kind of flexibility that many people can enjoy.

Price
Although Progresso Vegetable Soup has been a favorite, I have not always enjoyed the price that I have had to pay for the food. Progresso Vegetable Soup costs around $2.69 at almost any store that sells this flavor. Some grocery and pharmacy stores place this food on sale for $1 or special deals where you can get a few cans of Progresso Vegetable Soup for less than they would cost individually. While I have purchased this food at regular price, the sales are always preferable and recommended if you want to try this brand and flavor of vegetable soup.

Taste Test
The broth contained in Progresso Vegetable Soup has a heavy tomato flavor. It seems as if the manufacturer added nothing but tomato juice to make the broth for this particular Progresso soup product. Sometimes, the tomato flavor can be annoying and become the dominant ingredient in Progresso Vegetable Soup that you taste all the way until finishing this food. If tomato pieces were not already mixed in with the vegetables, it may have been easier to tolerate the strong tomato flavored broth. All of the other ingredients in Progresso Vegetable Soup taste great. The pasta and vegetable mixture is delicious.

Verdict
After purchasing Progresso Vegetable Soup many times, I have come to the conclusion that this is one of the best soups available at the grocery store. It is low in calories and you do not have to worry about the percentages of fat because there is no more than one percent in Progresso Vegetable Soup. Every food product that has nutritional value and many be low in all of the things that contribute to bad health and weight gain does not taste good. Progresso Vegetable Soup is one of the food products that back up their nutritional value with great taste. The flexible preparation options make it easier for college students who live on campus to still have a great tasting meal even though they may not own a stove.
