Review of Narcoossee’s at the Grand Floridian Resort, Walt Disney World, Florida

Dining Plan, Grand Floridian, s'mores

Narcoossee’s is located at the luxurious Grand Floridian Resort and Spa in Walt Disney World, Florida. It offers a romantic and casual atmosphere with an amazing view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks. If you’re sitting in the right spot you’ll also be able to see Cinderella’s Castle.

We had 6 pm reservations and arrived on time. We had been looking forward to this meal for months. Unfortunately, we were not very hungry, having eaten lunch just a few hours prior. We had been running late to our lunch reservations and it put the two meals too close together.

We were using the Disney Deluxe Dining plan to pay for our meals. The plan allows each person to order a non-alcoholic beverage, an appetizer, an entrée, and a dessert. My husband and I ended up sharing an appetizer so that we would have room for our entrees. We started with the Buttermilk Fried Shrimp appetizer ($15). It came with 3 large shrimp and they were outstanding. I would have loved to have a whole plate of them. For our entrees we both ordered the whole Maine steamed lobster. If we had been paying out of pocket, I don’t think I would have paid the $56 asking price for one entrée. Being on the deluxe plan though we were able to splurge and order anything we wanted. The lobster was steamed to perfection and had plenty of melted butter for dipping. The lobster was cracked and ready for you to enjoy. (No need to worry about making a mess since all the hard work is done for you.) We ended up sharing a dessert. After we tasted it, we both wished we would have ordered our own. We selected the almond-crusted cheesecake, which was inspired by The Year of a Million Dreams. Our server told us it was their most popular dessert. He also commented that some people come in and order this dessert first and then order their entrée.

Our daughter ordered the chicken soup appetizer, the kid’s filet mignon with mashed potatoes and green beans, and the make your own s’mores for dessert. Apparently, the s’mores are an adult favorite too.

If you’re on the dining plan this is a two-table service restaurant. This restaurant also has a business casual dress code. Reservations can be made by calling 1-407-WDW-DINE. Reservations can be made as far as 180 days in advance. It is best to reserve early as many restaurants are booked solid if you wait until you arrive on your vacation.
