Chickipedia.com: A Wikipedia for Hot Women

Hot Women, Wikipedia

For those who haven’t picked up on the latest internet website dedicated to the glorification (some might say “debasement”) of the female, just ask the nearest male about “Chickepedia.” If you’re reading this and have no idea what Chickipedia is, the google description reads, “Chickipedia is the world’s largest web-based, women-based, wiki-based database of hot chicks on the planet.” (it’s also the first line on their “About” page, which is set just left of a picture of a sultry Angelina Jolie.) If that is not descriptive enough, MarketingVox.com tells us that it (and its sister sites) “seek to draw one demographic: guys who like women, video games, women, violent movies, and women.”

Nothing like truth in promotional advertising…

First of all, a definition is in order. A “chick” is, according to the Random House Unabridged Dictionary, “a girl or young woman.” This is prefaced by “Slang: Often Offensive” (italics original). According to the Online Etymology Dictionary, the term was first recorded in the movie “Elmer Gantry” in 1927 and was derived from black slang. The British were using it by 1940 and the beatniks in American popularized its usage during the 1950’s. Taking all that into account, Chickipedia might be considered offensive by some. With that in mind…

What Is Chickipedia?

Chickipedia.com, the “Wiki for Hot Women,” is what is known as a “democratic” website, where anyone can upload data. From the “About” page: [Chickipedia is] “the first female-only encycopedia of the people, by the people, and for the people.” You can’t get much more democratic than that.

Chickipedia boasts over 4100 “chicks” and nearly 50,000 images to date. The site has only been around for a few months, but there is still no article on it on Wikipedia.org (another democratic website). This oversight might be explained by the ad “Chickipedia vs. Wikipedia.” Democracy has its limits…

What Chickipedia Offers

Once you are on-site, you find that navigating Chickipedia is relatively simple (it is for men, after all). Along the top of the home page, you can click on any of the images or the colored links and it takes you to the chick’s page or to a video or photo of the chick in question.

The home page of Chickimedia is very male-friendly (of course). There is the “Featured Girl” inset in the top left corner. The featured girl for Saturday, July 26, is Katy Perry, the controversial new pop singer who crossed over from Christian music to sing “I Kissed A Girl. An inset box to the right has links to who’s hot in movies (at this time, it’s Gillian Anderson and Maggie Gyllehaal), tv shows (Heidi Klum and Molly Parker), and music (Melanie Brown). That takes care of the top half of the home page.

The bottom half of the page is separated into three levels. The top level has three chicks highlighted for “the Hottest” (Keeley Hazell), “most Wanted” (Marian Rivera), and “the Updated” (Tea Leoni). Each highlighted photo has links to photos and videos of these hot, wanted, and updated chicks. The next level presents a row of photos of women in various modes of dress (or undress) called, appropriately enough, “the Photos in Demand.” Clicking on any of the photos will take you to more photos of the woman in the photo. The next level features a row of names of “our Contributors”, by which clicking on a name (there are no photos, since most of these persons are guys and, well, it’s a “female-only encyclopedia”, so…) takes you to a page that tells you about the contributor and anyone he has “contributed” to the site.

There are buttons for “Categories,” “All Chicks,” “Random Chick,” “Help,” “Log In/Create Account”, “Search,” and “Add New Chick.” Clicking on the “Categories” button takes you to a set of links categorized for your convenience. They are “tv,” “sports,” “business,” “film,” “fashion,” “music,” “politics,” and “miscellaneous.” The “All Chicks” button takes you to a page that lists, again appropriately, all the women on the site. “Random Chick” is just that. You click it and it takes you to the profile page of a chick. (I did say that the site was user friendly, did I not? Well, I said it was designed for males, so I expected the cognitive leap…)

Using Chickipedia

Having never been on the site before and being male, this writer decided to peruse the site (for research purposes, of course). Being interested in politics, the “Politics” button under “Categories” intrigued. This writer was surprised to see some of the women listed, such as current Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Now very intrigued (c’mon, Condi Rice is considered “hot”? By what stretch of the imagination?), clicking on her link brought up her profile page. The profile page not only has personal particulars like birthdate, hometown, and job, but it also lists astrological sign, assets, vices, hook-ups (no surprise; Rice’s is blank)and body measurements (Rice is 36″, 24″, 36″, by the way). The profile page introduces you to the chick, gives a history, chicks she’s worked with, dudes she’s worked with, stuff she’s done, a list of links of Rice on the web (magazines, personal sites, wikipedia, etc.) and the latest, the “BUZZ,” of Rice on the web.

Having satisfied that bit of curiousity, accessing the “All Chicks” button was next. This brings you to a page with all the chicks who have a profile on Chickipedia. Not knowing most of the names of the women, I chose one at random under “A” (they’re in alphabetical order for those who can read — and want to), a young woman by the name of Adrienne Manning. Rolling over her name (in fact, any of the names) produced a picture of the chick in question. Clicking brought up her profile, which was sparse. But her job listing was: “sex model, pornstar.

Here’s where it gets a bit tricky…

What You Should Know About Chickipedia

Up until that moment, Chickipedia was a nice diversion. But seeing Adrienne Manning’s job listing got this writer to wondering if there were websites linked to this one that could contain objectionable material for some. Being a fan of female form and no prude, this writer still understands that some people find nudity offensive. Besides, since this was a user friendly site, what about protecting children from objectionable material?

Without hesitation, I dropped to the bottom of Adrienne Manning’s profile page and found a list of websites, one of which was her official website. This link takes you straight to HotAdri.com. Suffice it to say that parents might want to block the use of Chickipedia.com from being used by younger members of the household, because although Chickipedia is sexist girl-watching (like Maxim magazine), it has access links to official websites that are a simple agreement page away from some very revealing material.

It also must be noted that some of the photos uploaded on Chickipedia go beyond racy. Depending on what you feel about partial or full nudity, some of photos cross into that territory and may be cause for offense. So be warned…

And another thing: Chickipedia comments can be more than slightly politically incorrect, even derogatory (for an example, see Condoleezza Rice’s “vices.”) So, again, be warned…

Still, all in all, Chickipedia itself is rather harmless (from a male perspective). Others will assuredly disagree. But if you are a guy looking for some pictures of Adriana Lima or Ivanka Trump or Mariah Carey, Chickipedia is the place to go.

Two notes:

1) In the time it took for this writer to research and write this article (two hours), three images were added to the site.

2) This site is not to be confused with Chikipedia.com. Note the missing ‘c’ in the name. Chikipedia is a webstore affiliated with Amazon.com and bears absolutely no resemblance to the abovementioned website. This is brought up because of the common misspelling in many blogs and stories about Chickipedia.com.
