Sports Betting – the Career Choice for You?

How many times has this thought crossed your mind? If it’s not on your mind right now, it’s probably on someone else’s. “I want to bet for a living” is what a lot of people want, thinking it’s an easy job. This “dream” to gamble for living is an illusion for most players though. The idea, that you would sleep until noon, wake up, pick three games ,bet on them, and then collect the cash, is just wrong.Of course you might get lucky once or twice, but you wont make a living like that.Sports betting and gambling in general can be a job like any others. If all other jobs require you to be busy at least 8 hours per day and serious amount of work, why wouldn’t this one?

Before deciding if this is the career for you, let’s learn about the different type of gamblers out there:

1. Hardcore bettors – these bettors bet for one reason only, to make money. However most of the time they lose, but that doesn’t stop them from going. They bet with money that can’t afford to lose. Most of the times that’s someone else’s money or money that they owe. With each bet they go deeper and deeper. Usually these people have addiction to gambling and need professional help to stop.

2. Hobby bettors – these bettors, and in this number myself, bet for fun. We bet occasionally to make the game we watch more interesting. Usually our picks are based on a little analysis and basic understanding about the teams that are playing. We do it for fun, with money we can afford to lose and don’t care about.

3. Professional bettors – these bettors do this for living. They spend their time reviewing technical and fundamental analysis, re-watching old games of the teams that are playing. They are very self disciplined, bet a small percentage of their accounts over and over again. With the amount of work they put into analyzing the teams, I doubt betting is fun for them anymore. They take it more as a job.

So do you have what it takes to cross from one category into another? More important do you want to cross over? Do you have the discipline to devote 8 hours everyday to sports betting, without making up any excuses for not working today or tomorrow? These are some of the questions you have to answer to yourself before deciding if sports betting is the career for you.
