Craft Blogs for Recycled Crafts

Craft Blogs, Recycled Crafts

As a thrifty person, recycled craft projects are right up my alley. I love to read craft blogs that give me new ideas for making something out of nothing. Some of my recent projects have included recycled tin can luminaries. These simple soup and cat food cans sparkle with candlelight and look pretty. Kids can help make them too!

Another project my grandchildren like making were egg carton spiders. The main body of the spider is a section of an egg carton. Sweet! But when I run out of ideas for recycled craft projects, I head over to some great craft blogs that also use recycled products. This keeps the price low and fun level high.

Several of the following craft bloggers also sell their wares online. Check out these craft blogs for new ideas or if you’re strapped for time, consider supporting a crafter by purchasing something from them.

Sallygoodin

This craft blog by Pam is one of my absolute favorites because Pam always has such creative ways to use some everyday items that you might never consider for craft supplies. Her craft site contains “Mostly fun, recycled, upcycled how-to projects.” The recycled products in the SallyGoodin craft blog make me sit up and say, “I could do that, but I never would have thought of it myself!” Take for instance, the DIY String Lanterns Pam made and gave such clear instructions for making. Beautiful and I think I could even make them!

Where the Grass is Greener

Renee is the woman behind this craft blog that is always inspiring and full of wonderful, professional looking recycled craft projects. Her Recycled Magazine Wreath Tutorial gives step-by-step instructions for using old magazine pages to create a funky wreath to dress up your wall. These types of projects are great for using up old magazines or how about those yellow page books?

Can’t Stop Making Things

Gail is the blogger behind the craft blog Can’t Stop Making Things, Devoted to Doable, Affordable, and Usable Crafts. Each week, Gail adds a new craft project that uses inexpensive items to create something new and wonderful like this Love Potion No. 9 wine cork. The recycled doorknob makes this fun craft unique while providing a way to use vintage recycled products in a new way.

Gathering Dust

Beth Leintz is the woman behind the craft blog whose name describes all of my treasures that are just waiting for a new project. Her blog entry “I’m Having a Craft Day” shows off how Beth uses her stash of recycled treasures like old buttons, rick rack, vintage wallpaper, playing cards, and more to make tags, wall hangings, and journals.

Make the Best of Things

I look forward to each new entry from Ann’s craft blog, which she calls her “creative arts blog.” I especially love this paper crafts she made from vintage dictionary pages: looped links for the Christmas tree and origami flowers. The earthy look to her crafts suit my style and she always comes up with something new to do with something old.
