Cajun Food, Fried Turkey, Meat Pies, Pralines

The love of Cajun food has grown over the years, so much so that it’s now being widely sold across the internet, with homemade Louisiana treats like turduckin, crawfish, alligator, and boudin being shipped across the globe because of their fantastic flavors and spices. If you want to join the crowd and buy spices to season with, pots to boil in, or fresh or frozen ingredients to get the party going, this is the place to get started. Here are eight great Cajun cookin’ web sites to help you get started.

1. Cajun Grocer- http://www.cajungrocer.com/food-fresh-foods-c-1_15.html

This site is amazing, because it ships fresh ingredients like shrimp, live crawfish, alligator, and boudin directly from Louisiana in a cooler packed with dry ice to ensure freshness. Even better, the crawfish can be purchased tailed, and they sell etouffee, jambalaya, and a vast variety of stuffed breads that will make your mouth water.

There are multiple items available throughout the site such as pralines, coffees, marinades, and even recipes, but the big buy is the seafood. You can purchase it online, but you will have to register first, with prices ranging from $6.95 for alligator; to 10 lb of shrimp $64.00; to turducken ranking $94.00. Crawfish was out of season, so I couldn’t give you an estimate on where that price stood.
