7 Reasons to Spank Your Child

Spanking a child is a much-needed method of discipline in every home. Many times in today’s society, you will see a child telling a parent what to do and that is in public, whereas twenty years ago, that child would have been quickly disciplined either in public, or at home and that incident would never repeat itself. The method of spanking and the location could be discussed in another article, but this article will confine its contents to the seven reasons to spank your child.

1) A child that is disciplined in school should be spanked! The old rule in many homes used to be if you were spanked in school (when spankings were allowed), then you were spanked at home. If a teacher has to correct you enough that the parents hear about it, then there should be a follow-up spanking at home to ensure that the child is deterred from doing it again.

2) Any instance where the police are involved should automatically mean a spanking from the parent. The police being called are a serious matter and the parent needs to make sure the child understands this.

3) Lying is a reason to spank your child! Lying is a habit that must be broken at the first occurrence, because if left alone, the lying will become almost natural and you will never know when your child is telling the truth.

4) Fighting with a sibling is reason to correct your child through spanking. Many houses have siblings that argue and this is looked at as normal, but the truth is fighting with siblings is wrong and should be corrected and not let to continue.

5) Disobedience is grounds for spankings! If a child can disobey their parent without repercussion, then when they get older, they will run the home and that will lead to many problems. The parent is the boss and any child that disobeys their parent will disobey all the rest of their authorities and a good spanking will help prevent this from happening.

6) A good reason to spank your child is if they are found cheating! Cheating is a dirty habit and warrants a spanking every time.

7) Being late for curfew deserves a spanking! When curfew is set, the only way a child should be late is if the parents are notified and then only if the reason is acceptable. A curfew is a privilege and not a right and when it is disobeyed, it should be taken away and a spanking should be given.

Spankings do not always need to be the method administered, but for these seven issues, a spanking is proper. There are some cases where warnings could be given, but if the child is aware of the rules that merit spankings and they should be aware, then there will be no miscommunication about whether or not a spanking will take place. There are obviously other issues for which a spanking would be called for, but those are the more obvious reasons like a bad attitude, disrespect, bad mouth and being rude to others. Spankings are neither fun to give nor receive, but are vital in the rearing of children.
