5 Funny Summer Camp Skit Ideas

Camp skits can be the highlight of of the summer camp experience. They create lots of fun memories, are great photo opportunities, and allow campers to express their creativity. They are a terrific way to make campers laugh around a cozy campfire. Here are a few funny camp skits for your cabin or camp group.

Doctor’s Clinic Skit

This hilarious skit has been making campers laugh since the 1970’s or before. It is a fantastic skit for a girls’ cabin.

Arrange the chairs like a doctor’s waiting room. One camper plays the office receptionist, and a patient enters, checks in and sits down. Then another patient enters. This patient comes in coughing. The first patient starts coughing after hearing her cough.

The first patient continues to cough. Then, another patient enters and is scratching. The first patient begins scratching, and continues to cough.

A third patient enters and is sneezing. The first patient, who is already coughing and scratching, begins to sneeze too.

A fourth patient enters with an obvious headache. The first patient is now coughing, scratching, sneezing and holding her head like she has a headache.

Lastly, a fifth patient enters who appears to be nine months pregnant. The patient (who is coughing, scratching, sneezing and holding her head) gasps, screams and runs off the stage.

(If you have extra campers, you can add in a patient that is limping, has a stomach ache, has the hiccups, etc.)

Date Skit

This skit will end with lots of laughs. It’s great for teens or even college students. Camp counselors might even choose to preform this skit.

It involves a girl and a guy on a date at the movies. Arrange the chairs like a movie theater, with at least 5-10 other campers participating as movie watchers. They will sit in the back of the guy and the girl on the date. (The more movie-watchers you have, the better.)

The guy pretends to eat the popcorn. The girl asks for some and he rudely says, “No!”

The girl looks startled. Then, after a moment or two, the guy says loudly, “You’re breathing too loud, be quiet!” The girl, again, looks upset that her date has treated her this way.

Then, a few seconds later, the guy says, “What perfume are you wearing? It stinks!” The girl, for the third time, acts very upset. She gets up and leaves.

After she leaves, the guy, in a calm manner, looks at the audience and says, “Ah, the things I have to do to find my sister a date!”

Shoe Psychic Skit

This summer camp skit has been around since the early 1990’s, or before. One camper (or counselor) pretends to be a “Shoe Psychic.” He proclaims he can tell what will happen in your life by sniffing your shoe.

One camper approaches him and asks him to predict his/her future based on his shoe. He sniffs the shoe and says something silly like, “You will become a millionaire and invent flying cars.

Another camper comes to the psychic, and he provides her with another crazy prediction such as “You will get married and have 13 children.”

Then, the psychic asks for a volunteer in the audience. (Choose a volunteer who has a great sense of humor.) The psychic then sniffs his shoe and states loudly, “Ah-ha! You will soon go on a very long journey!” And then, the “psychic” throws his/her shoe.

Infantry Skit

This is a short, but cute summer camp skit. It’s great for younger campers. Have a camper shout to other campers, “The infantry is coming! The infantry is coming!”

The campers then act frantic and run around. Another shouts, “Oh no, the infantry is coming! The infantry is coming!”

Then, another camper runs onto the stage holding a very small tree. (The tree is an infant tree.)

Water Skit

This one involves a guy who is desperately searching for water. At the end of the stage, have a glass of water.

He acts like he is in a desert, crawling and uttering “Water! Water!” with all of his strength.

The camper continues to mumble, “Water! Water!” as he crosses the stage.

Then, when he finally reaches the water, he pulls out a comb from his back pocket. He sticks the comb in the water and combs his hair.
