Retro Yo Yo Décor #1: Wall Art
Yo Yos make great wall art if you use small L shaped shelves. You can also use cube shelves. These can be bought at the home decor store.
Look for small accent shelves that will each hold one Yo Yo. You can also cut your own cubes using wood from the home improvement store. Pain tall the small shelves or cubes out in the same colors or coordinating colors.
Screw them into the wall in a grid pattern. Place on Yo Yo standing up on each.
Tip: Try painting out a square of color on the wall, then hanging your grid of shelves in the color block. It will act as a back drop.
Retro Yo Yo Décor #2: Lamps
Look for clear bases for lamps that have access to putting items inside. I find thes online as well as at the cart store. Many people often place items like baby blocks in them, but these ar perfect for a valuable Yo Yo collection.
You can sort your Yo Yos by color and fill a couple lamp bases with them. Top off with a shade and you have a fun accent piece that is sure to be a conversation starter. This looks great in a game room, family room, retro kitchen, or even a bedroom for a child.
Retro Yo Yo Décor #3: Coffee Table
Finally, if you can get a glass top table, then try turning it into a display case for your retro Yo Yos. I often find glass top tables that have a shelf inside. You can also find glass top coffee tables with a hinged top. The inside is ready to display anything you like.
Line the inside with a piece of bright colored felt cut to size. Any fabric that will make your Yo Yo’s pop will work here.
Now, lay out your vintage yo yos in a design, in a grid, or in rows. This will be geometric and look great!
