Spartanburg

Spartanburg, SC is ready to welcome the Carolina Panthers as they arrive at Wofford College Friday, July 27 to begin their 18th consecutive training camp! Since their inception in 1995, the Panthers have held their training camp in Spartanburg at the Gibbs Stadium on the Wofford campus. On Saturday, July 28th, there will be a free and open to the public Carolina Panther Kickoff party that signifies the beginning of the 2012 Training Camp! This is a family friendly event with much to see and enjoy! After the party, the Panthers will have their first practice and you will see it close up! Details and tips for the Carolina Panthers Training Camp and kickoff party are provided below. I look forward to attending this event every year and am excited about watching the Panthers practice once again!

When and Where

The Carolina Panthers 2012 Training Camp and kickoff party will take place on Saturday July 28, 2012 from 4:30pm9:30pm at the Gibbs Stadium on the campus of Wofford College. To get directions to the stadium click here. The training camp will end on Aug. 15th. All of the practice sessions are free to attend but the times and dates can change without notice. Practices normally last for 2 to 21/2 hours. The Carolina Panther training camp practice schedule is available at the link above.

What to Expect at the Party and Training Camp

Plan to arrive at Gibbs Stadium earlier than 4:30 when the party is expected to kickoff in order to get parking spaces closer to the stadium. Also bring an umbrella to sit under to block the hot sun or to use in case of a pop-up rain/thunder shower as Spartanburg’s weather has been hot and unpredictable this summer. Please stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water! There will be food and beverage vendors on site. It is recommended that you leave your pets at home out of the heat. You will need a camera to capture the fun you will have and don’t forget to wear comfortable clothing and shoes!

Entertainment will be provided at the party by a local band, Back Nine. I have heard this band and they are great! There will also be performances by the mascot Sir Purr, the TopCats, and PurCussion! The kids can get their face painted! There will also be giveaways.

Panther shirts, caps, and other souvenirs will be available for purchase at this event and every practice session.
