World Financial Group SCAM!

Some people just have no shame. I was contacted by these slimy A-HOLES late last year about a possible work opportunity. They told me they needed some more people for the office, so naturally I pictured the television show The Office in my head and thought to myself, “WOW, this could be fun!” So eventually the next step was to set up an appointment for the interview, and I was on my way to a new job to add to my grossly inconsistent fake job. The silly guy on the phone (lets call him Cuppycakes) even made me feel confident about the interview, simply stating that there are no qualifications when I asked, “Oh yeah, so what are the basic qualifications?”

NO QUALIFICATIONS? ARE YOU $#!+ING ME?

I knew something was fishy about Cuppycakes at this point but the actual position was very vague so I thought that it could still be possible that there would be no qualifications. “Maybe they provide training,” I said aloud to myself.

INTERVIEW DAY!

On the day of the interview, I was extremely hopeful about this possible office job. The restaurant business had rejected me (and my hair) multiple times before and the entertainment industry just hasn’t been as consistent as I thought it would so this was my real chance to let my brain make me into a relevent person and prevent me from becoming the useless pile of flesh that I was fast becoming in this stupid world that was metaphorically stabbing me in the heart every chance that it got. Cuppycakes said to be in business casual attire so of course this was legit, right? WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I walk in the office and am greeted by an adorable ‘lil Asian (lets call her Sweetcheeks) and her equally adorable brother, who gave me a name tag! I jokingly put it on upside-down but quickly fixed it when no one laughed (or noticed). I was soon introduced to Cuppycakes after a brief chat with Sweetcheeks and quickly realized how nice these people are! They agreed with me on pretty much everything! I even fake laughed at the lame jokes! Little did I know that part of their job is to do just that – be nice and make the sucker feel as comfortable as possible, so we can take away their money – and I almost fell for it.

Then the real fun started. It was time for the presentaion that was supposed to make all the new potential employees buy in to what ever it is they were selling, I don’t remember quite what it was but I do recall Sweetcheeks constantly reminding us that they had “nothing to sell to you.” Basically the presentation was nothing more than a ten minute version of my high school economic class but one thing that stood out was the fact that several potential employees (of a company calling itself World Financial Group, mind you) did not know what the word inflation meant. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Was this company really going to hire poeple who did not know what inflation was to be financial experts? Or were they going to make them them fell like they were going to hire them so that they could charge the 100$ “background check” fee? Honestly, at this point, I don’t know what happens after you give them the money because before they had a chance to take it from me, I did my research and I can only hope that other potential scamees can do the same. Take it from me, if something seems to good to be true – if the people seem way too nice – get out while you can.

The company itself is fishy as it is. I highly recommend that you do the research yourself because I can only report on my personal experience. If I gave away company facts, I would have to cite where I got that info, and we all know that I hate doing that. And keep this in mind, if this comapany was really as clean as they claim it is, there wouldn’t be so much skepticism in the first place.

God, why must you create these types of people?

“Well Mr. Chris, it provides a balance…”

Just admit it, there is no excuse.

“Got me.”
