Winter Activities in Cape May County, New Jersey

Beachcombing, Welcome Center

When most people think about Cape May they think about summer vacations. Sandy beaches, dolphin watching, and Wildwood’s famous amusement park on the boardwalk. Unfortunately, most people don’t realize Cape May County is a historical town with many winter activities. Here are a few I think you will enjoy.

Zoo

The Cape May County Zoo is open every day of the year with the exception of Christmas. The zoo is open from 10:00 am to 4:45pm. Visit over 200 species of animals. You can walk through the bird sanctuary and enter the reptile house. If you prefer to remain outdoors, travel through the African Safari. Located next to the zoo you will find a beautiful park. In the park you can enjoy nature trails, playground equipment, picnic area’s, and a cute lake with a gazebo. There is also a big field available for any sports you might like to play with your friends (maybe a little game of touch football to celebrate the up and coming Superbowl).
