Why You Should Switch to Cotton Babies bumGenius 2.0 One Sized Pocket Diapers

Cloth Diapering, Pocket Diapers

With my first out of diapers and my second already a year old, the thought of cloth diapers hadn’t even occurred to me. In fact, I didn’t realize that there were cloth diapers out there anymore, other than this image I had in my head of our parents using pins and the rags I now use as burp cloths.

Cloth diapering has come a long way, and when I decided to give it a try with my one year old, I started small, only purchasing three Cotton Babies bumGenius! 2.0 One-Sized Pocket Diapers at the recommendation of a friend. I thought I would try them out, see how they worked and if I could handle them, and then I could re-sell them if I wasn’t interested anymore.

Not only did I fall in love with cloth diapering thanks to Cotton Babies, but I purchased more and more, making them the bulk of my diapering supply. Here’s how they made a convert out of me, and how they can do the same for you!

Cost Effective

Cotton Babies bumGenius 2.0 One Sized Pocket Diapers are cost effective, as they can be worn from 8 to 35 pounds. Not only do you save money over disposables because they are reusable, but you save money because you don’t have to purchase different diapers for different sizes.

Cuteness

While these diapers don’t come in wild prints, they do come in cute colors that make it easy to let your child roam around in just a diaper and a t-shirt. The exterior isn’t shiny or uncomfortable. In fact, it’s soft to the touch. My daughter looks cute wearing them!

Unique Design

The exterior polyurethane laminate layer is waterproof, preventing leaks. The interior layer closest to your baby’s bottom is microfleece, which keeps the moisture from staying too close to their skin and feels soft on their bottom. It also makes it easy to simply plop any poop into the toilet, and is incredibly resistant to staining. The inner layer, which you stuff in before use, is terry cloth, which is incredibly absorbent. In addition, the pocket design allows you to add more or less absorbency as necessary for the type of wetter that your child is. The aplix tabs on the front are easier to use than snaps, especially if you are diapering a squirmy toddler.

Easy to Launder

Because the covers and the inserts can be washed together on hot and then dried in medium heat per the manufacturer’s instructions, I am able to simply throw everything in my washing machine, add All Free and Clear laundry detergent (a small amount, usually less than a ¼ cup) and wash on cold water to avoid stains, and then hot water to sterilize. Then I throw everything right in the dryer.

In the 5 months that I have been happily cloth diapering my daughter, Cotton Babies bumGenius! 2.0 One Sized Pocket Diapers continue to blow me away time and time again. I have never had a leak, never had a blow-out, and never had a problem with their design. They are holding up well, and continue to save us money. I had no idea cloth diapering could be so easy. They made a cloth diapering convert out of me!
