Who was the Mysterious Third Murderer in Macbeth?

Macbeth

William Shakespeare wrote many great plays. One of them, the tragedy of Macbeth, was very bloody and violent. Macbeth was based on The Chronicles of England, Scotland, and Ireland. Shakespeare wrote it in 1606 but it remained unpublished until 1623. The play is filled with betrayal, mystery, and murder. After Macbeth becomes king, he is threatened by his best friend, Banquo, so he orders to have him killed. He hires 3 murderers to kill his best friend. He really didn’t need three but he hired the third one anyway. During, the time of Banquo’s murder Macbeth was having a party. It was a grand party and everyone attended everyone except Macduff. The third murderer is Macduff because of the mystery about him.

It only makes sense that Macduff would kill Banquo. It fits together like pieces of a puzzle. Macbeth killed King Duncan so that he can seize the throne. Macbeth was loyal to Duncan just as Banquo was loyal to Macbeth. The same virtue, greed, applied to both of their deaths though. Macbeth was worried that Banquo was coming on to him about the murder of Duncan and Macbeth got scared. The only thing Macbeth thought of to do was to kill Banquo.

I guess that one could say that Macduff and Banquo were friends. They both served under King Duncan and shortly after King Macbeth. They both were very loyal to Macbeth and eager to show. Macduff disregarded his friendship with Banquo so he could prove his loyalty to Macbeth. Macbeth really trusted Macduff, that is why he sent him with the other to murderers. He was kind of like insurance to really make sure that Banquo was gone. First Murderer: “But who did bid thee join with us?”/Third Murderer: “Macbeth” (Macbeth Act III,sceneIII). Macbeth personally sent Macduff to make sure the task was completed.

Macbeth had a party the same night as the murder. It could have been a cover up for the murder. Macduff certainly wasn’t mentioned to be at the party. He may have been at the murder scene. Macbeth celebrated while his best friend was dieing. After, Macduff finally realized that Macbeth used him and really doesn’t care about him at all.

Macduff had to have been the murderer. He fled to England to get Malcolm so he can help go against Macbeth. Macduff was scared of what might happen next so he needed Malcolm to help. He knew that Macbeth was a bad person, mainly because he ordered to have his best friend killed. Because he knew all about Macbeth he was ready to lead a rebellion against him.

Macduff was the third murderer because of the mystery about him. He helped Macbeth betray his friend, and then later hated Macbeth for killing his wife and kids. Macduff shouldn’t have done anything for Macbeth. Macbeth did horrific things to Macduff but luckily Macduff repaid him by putting his head on a pole for everyone to look at.
