I was actually given White Musk by Alyssa Ashley last year for Christmas from one of my employees at work. I assumed right away that the perfume was going to suck, because first and foremost I had never heard of Alyssa Ashley. Secondly, the box seemed rather bland and ugly…which gave off that whole ‘I got this for you at a dollar store’ vibe. Lastly the chick who bought it for me hated me.
White Musk came in a simple white stand up box, with some gold lettering spelling out the perfume name. The box also has one gold stripe that runs up the middle of the box. One could easily miss White Musk at perfume stores because it does not stand out; at all.
Inside of the ugly plain box, the bottle of White Musk is not much prettier. The bottle is actually shaped like the boring rectangular box it came in. The perfume itself is clear, and it has a standard perfume pump down nozzle that releases the spray.
It seriously reeked of dollar store…but the scent…the scent is a different story.
Scent:
White Musk by Alyssa Ashley may be packaged in dollar store garbs, but the perfume seriously smells like it came from a high end joint like Macy’s or JCPenny.
I sprayed a bit of it onto my wrist, let it dry, and gave it a big ol’ sniff. White Musk smelled like a musky bottle that had been dropped off from heaven. The first note of course was musk, the after notes were subtle and lovely. It reminded me slightly of Jovan, only more feminine and not as thick.
The scent is more of a girly flowery musk, with a touch of honeysuckle, strawberry, and bouquet flowers. These were the scents I got out of White Musk anyway.
A light floral musk. I really loved it and felt bad for pre-judging it. Like a book, don’t judge perfume by its bottle/packaging.
How Long Does It Last?
Seeing how it appeared to be a cheap perfume, I imagined that White Musk would only last for a few minutes when it came to the scent. I was surprised at how long White Musk lasted though. I was able to smell it on me for the entire day, and the perfume that had hit my sleeve remained there till the next washing.
Pricing:
After looking White Musk up online I was able to locate the perfume for only $16.99 at a few online sites. Although White Musk by Alyssa Ashley is cheap, it’s actually a cheap perfume worth buying. Sort of like Jovan.

White Musk not only comes as a perfume, but you can also pick it up as a body lotion for $18.00.
Recommendation:
White Musk is definitely worth a buy, and would make for an excellent and affordable gift for that gal who you are stumped on what to buy for this upcoming holiday. It may look cheap, but it’s what’s inside that matters. It is a scent made for everyday wear, and honestly, I can’t see anyone not liking White Musk.
