I’m a huge fan of Bath and Body Works. I’m there probably more than I am any other store. I visit regularly to see whats new, to see what I can indulge myself in.
I haven’t though ever been a huge fan of Wallflowers.
Wallflowers are basically outlet plug ins that dispense fragrance throughout the air. You can buy different scented refills (bulbs) to plug into the wallflowers to change fragrances with ease.
I have been mainly disappointed in all of the Wallflowers I have tried. They seem to work for only 24 hours, and then piddle out of scent the next day. You would still see liquid in the bulb, but it would have no scent at all. It seemed after heating up for 24 hours, the scent itself would burn away, and leave you with nothing more than colored water.
This year for Christmas though I was given a Wallflower Refill set in the Irresistible Apple fragrance. Irresistible Apple has been a top fragrance of mine since I first discovered it at the store. However due to the fact that I never browse through their collection of Wallflowers, I didn’t even know this particular scent existed as such a product.
Although I have never found a Wallflower scent that has completely satisfied me, I was willing to try Irresistible Apple because I love apples. I love how they taste, love how they smell.
I was glad to of gotten it. I had high hopes even though I had this hunch that the results would be disappointing; like most Wallflowers.
I unscrewed an old empty bulb I had in my Wallflower, and placed in the Irresistible Apple refill bulb.
Before screwing it in though, I first gave the bulb a sniff. (There is a small cotton filled white tube that hangs out of the top of the refill, so smelling the scent is easy.
The scent was gorgeous. Irresistible Apple smells like a real red delicious apple. It’s truly mouth watering, and a scent that I would love to have fill the house/room.
I plugged it in, and went about my day.
Sadly as the day went on, I noticed nothing. I figured with the amount of time that had gone by, the Irresistible Apple refill bulb should of at least managed to add some fragrance to the room.
In order to even get a slight hint of fragrance I had to walk directly to the outlet where the Wallflower was plugged in. Standing here I was able to get hints of the apple fragrance, so it was obvious it was working. I assumed that maybe it needed some more time.
However the next morning after waking up and going into the room where the Irresistible Apple Wallflower refill was plugged in, I was not surprised when I smelled nothing.
Again, I had to walk directly to the area where the Wallflower was plugged in order to recognize it.
Recommendation:
Irresistible Apple does smell nice, but you have to be really close to where it is plugged in to smell it. I’m not going to knock it off of the list of good buys, because in fact the Irresistible Apple refill would be wonderful if plugged into an outlet located in a very small room, such as a bathroom.
I was hoping to get this yummy scent in the kitchen where this type of scent would be best…but our kitchen is too large to allow the scent to disperse through the entire room. When plugged into the bathroom though, the scent easily fills the entire room. (Doors shut).
