What To Do if You Are A Women Who is Infertile

There are many women who are infertile and are not able to get pregnant. An example is my friend’s husband who has been trying to get pregnant for five years. They have tried every natural method that you can think of including hanging upside down just to get pregnant. After years of trying they decided to go to the doctor to see what they couldn’t get pregnant. After a series of testing on both couples it was concluded that the wife was infertile. This was a sad time for the both of them. They felt their dreams of having children naturally were shattered. After accepting the fact they wouldn’t be able to have children naturally they check out to see what their options are. After talking with the doctor they realized there are many opportunities for them to have children. Many couple don’t realize this when they first hear the news that one spouse is infertile. I am going to share with you the different reasons for a woman’s infertility and some options that are available to a couple who want to have children.

There are different reasons that a woman can be infertile. One reason could be the shape of the uterus is not normal. Sometimes the shape of the uterus is not normal because of past miscarriages, abortions, infections and a tumor. Second reason could be the woman doesn’t ovulate often enough. A sign of this problem is periods that occur during different times each month. A woman could not be ovulating consistently because of weight issues, stress, hormonal problems and cysts. The third possible cause could be scarring inside of the fallopian tubes. The scarring can make it difficult for the egg to reach the uterus. Scarring can form from surgery, infection and from a sexually transmitted disease such as gonorrhea.

There are a variety of different options for women who are infertile and want to have a baby. What type of option depends on how bad the woman is infertile. A common form of treatment is hormonal medication. Hormonal treatments are appropriate for a woman who has trouble ovulating. The hormones can cause a woman to ovulate often. Surgery is another form of treatment. Surgery can be used to remove a cyst of tumor. Surgery can also be used to retrieve some eggs and combine it will the sperm. Once the eggs and sperm and combine it will be insert in the uterus. This common procedure is called, In vitro fertilization. Another form of surgery is called, Intrauterine insemination. This is when sperm is placed directly into the uterus. Some women don’t have any of these options because their infertility is an extreme case. In such a situation adoption becomes an option.

I just touched on a few treatment options but there are others that a couple can choose from. There have been many successful healthy births for women who are infertile. My husband’s friends have finally been successful in just recently having their first baby girl. Just remember if you find out you are infertile don’t give up that dream for having a baby. There is a baby waiting to receive your love.
