A new book, Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage, written by Christopher Andersen, is out today, September 22, and it may require some damage control by Obama’s staff. As reported in New York and Khabrein.info, in the book, Andersen claims that a Vera Baker became closer than normal to President Barack Obama during his campaign for the Senate in 2004, so much so that Vera Baker was dropped from the campaign, they say, at the hands of Michelle Obama and subsequently moved to the island of Martinique.

“When Baker suddenly and inexplicably vanished from the campaign and resurfaced on the Caribbean island of Martinique, tongues reportedly began wagging. A jealous Michelle, it was suggested, had engineered Baker’s departure.”
Also, as reported in MediaTakeOut.com, women have had a tendency to grab Mr. Obama’s butt or slip him phone numbers, much to the chagrin of Michelle Obama.
Did Barack Obama have an affair with Vera Baker? Christopher Andersen doesn’t state that in the book. However, what is stated in the book could be fodder for those who hate Obama and who want to see him fail.
Is it difficult to imagine women throwing themselves at the attractive president? Of course not. Are we surprised? We shouldn’t be. Barack Obama is a young, thin man with a pleasant face and perfect teeth. Obama is frequently on “most beautiful” lists such as People Magazine’s annual Top 100 Most Beautiful list.
However, it’s not always the way a man looks. Some women are also drawn to men of power. This usually also includes money. While Barack Obama didn’t start out rich, he is certainly a rich and powerful man now. Indeed, there are even dating sites specifically designed for women who want to date the rich and powerful. Are all women like this, of course not? But to deny that it happens would be walking around with blinders on.
Barack Obama has a lot on his plate and he can only hope the book Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage will not damage his credibility or the image of his stable marriage. Chances are the book will be read and then forgotten until the next “tell all” comes around. An unauthorized book never has the same credibility as one that has gotten the seal of approval from its subject. However, the public certainly pays attention to some of the biographies out there, whether they are authorized or not.
