Unusual Ways to Display Your Autographed Baseball Collection

Votives

I am so tired of seeing those simple square glass boxes than people use to display their more precious autographed baseballs. Yes, they are affordable, easy to find, and made just for this purpose. Only, now they are just getting a little boring. There are so many affordable and easy way to display you baseball collection that are new and unique.

Think outside of the glass box and you can easily create some eye catching display or your baseball collection hobby!

Glass Vases and Votives

Ok, so there is no law that says all you can place in you candle votives is candles! I like to use those really large and think glass votives to display large number of baseballs. They are not expensive either. I find them all the time at Wal Mart and Target. If you do want to invest some money in seem pricey candle votives for this baseball display, them check out the candle section in your local Pottery Barn. All you have to do is fill the large clear glass votive up with baseballs. If you have any autographs form player or team owners, them make sure you turn those emote for your guests to see.

Now, if you want to display your more precious autographed baseball individually, then try buying a small candle votive that the baseball just fits into. I find these all the time for those rounded 4″ pillar candles. They sort of looking like a drinking glass. You can set one baseball in each glass and make a row of them on shelf or mantel. This will really make your display and collection of baseballs more eye catching.

You can also use large clear glass vases for this simple way to display baseballs. If you vase is curvy and dips in at the neck, then you have great place to tie a ribbon around. Try to buy a manly ribbon for your guy. It should match his favorite baseball team!

Baskets

A wire basket is the perfect way to display a baseball collection. The wire basket allows you to still see inside and see what all the baseball collection has to offer. The wire basket is also a great reminder of something like a catcher’s mask or the batting cage.

You could also take a catcher’s mask and trunk it one its side. Fill the inside up with some of your baseballs. This is very unique and a great conversation starter!

Hang Them Up

Ok, so for this simple display project all you need is some twine or rope. You could also use shoe laces. Lop the rope, twine, or shoe lace around the baseball. You want to tie the string around the ball in a way that it will hold it. Now, use the remaining string or rope to tie a loop. You can hang the baseballs from a row of hooks you hang on your wall. I recommend looking up some knot tying sites on the web to get an idea of what type of knot would hold best around a baseball.

Floating Shelves

Finally, try buying some of those great little floating shelves. They are about three inches deep. I find them at Ikea and Michaels Arts and raft store all the time. They are the perfect depth to line a row of baseballs up on. Again, make sure you face any good signature out for all to see! If there is no end to the floating shelf to keep the baseballs from running off you could place a small stone on each end to keep them from rolling away.
