TV Series “Roseanne” … Where Are They Now?

Roseanne

I grew up watching the wacky Roseanne show. I just loved that show and still watch it to this day. Something about their lifestyle, humor and their poor way of life that a lot of us could relate to. My favorite character has got to be Roseanne’s sister Jackie(Laurie Metcalf). She is just such a fun goofy actress to watch. Each of the kids were equally hilarious to watch too. Roseanne’s character pretty much was the hit of the show. Playing it off really well being a “working class” family. We need more shows like that back. Good old fashion shows. Where people can relate to. Not even about the money but about raising kids and marriage.

Roseanne debuted on October 18th, 1988. They did 222 shows with the last one airing on May 20th, 1997.

“I hate the word housewife; I don’t like the word home-maker either. I want to be called Domestic Goddess.”

“Birth control that really works: Every night before we go to bed we spend an hour with our kids.”

“A good man doesn’t just happen. They have to be created by us women. A guy is a lump like a doughnut.”

“The thing women have got to learn is that nobody gives you power. You just take it.”

Roseanne’s last words on the show…. “I realized that my dreams of being a writer wouldn’t just come true; I had to do the work. And as I wrote about my life, I relived it, and whatever I didn’t like, I rearranged. I made a commitment to finish my story even if I had to write in the basement in the middle of the night while everyone else was asleep. But the more I wrote, the more I understood myself and why I had made the choices I made, and that was the real jackpot. I learned that dreams don’t work without action; I learned that no one could stop me but me. I learned that love is stronger than hate. And most important, I learned that God does exist. He and/or She is right inside you, underneath the pain, the sorrow, and the shame. I think I’ll be a lot better now that this book is done.”

The quote they showed after Roseanne said her last words… “Those who dream by night, in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that all was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, and make it possible”.
