Littlest Pet Shop is a toy product line by Hasbro that features tiny plastic animals with bobble heads and magnets on their feet. Many young girls obsess over the little pets since there are a variety of cute, stylish littlest pets, some have clothes, and others wear glasses, hats and bows. Each littlest pet is cute and unique. Littlest pets include animals such as frogs, mice, birds, dogs, cats, and bunnies etc. Hasbro creates many littlest pet shop playsets for these miniature animals, the playsets all differ in price, the bigger the playsets, the more they cost, but the price usually does not exceed $50.
The Littlest Pet Shop Whirl Around Playground is an inexpensive, fun toy for young girls, that has many features. The Whirl Around Playground comes with two littlest pet shop animals a very tiny mouse and a puppy with sunglasses, a food and water bowl, a bed, and a sled.
The Whirl Around playground is multi-pastel colored and stands at, a small-medium size and is made of plastic. Girls can take their pet on a ride in the elevator (of which they must operate by using their hand.) Three pets can sit in the merry go round (which must be turned by the hand.)The pets can take turns sleeping in the hammock. The most exiting part of the Whirl Around Playground is the slide, obstacle course and the swing. Girls can place two pets on the purple sled and push them down the slide, the pets all contain magnets at the bottom of their feet, and this magnet is what will stick the two animals to the purple sled and make it so that they don’t fall off.
Girls can slide their animals down the pink slide with or without the sled and watch them go. Girls can also make their pets magically run through an obstacle course which is a little path and tunnel, and they do this by placing their pet at the beginning of the tunnel (the pet will stick to the magnetized lever) the child then slides the lever across and watches as the pet magically “runs” through the course and tunnel.
Girls can also place a total of six littlest pets on the swing. The swing actually turns around and around and is activated by turning the top of the swing counterclockwise and then placing any animal on the very top of the swing (the magnetized foot of the animal must touch the purple paw print at the top of the swing, and when the foot is touching the purple paw print it will lock the animal down to the top pf the swing, and the swing will go round and round, the more the child turns the swing the longer the ride will last. The toy requires no batteries to operate so it is really amazing.
There are a few flaws to this playset. The first is the obstacle course; the lever beneath the obstacle course at times, has to be moved slowly because the animal could fall off if moved to quickly. Some littlest pets (the ones with bigger heads) might have a difficult time fitting through the little tunnels that are sectioned throughout the playset. There is some assembly required, the assembly is actually very simple, but it is so simple that it is a bit hard, but with patience the playset will be up in no time.
Overall, the playset is a very nice playset that will provide girls ages 4 and up with hours of fun. All littlest pet shop toys and playsets are very unique, fun, and interesting to play with, and are perfectly designed for young girls. Girls can create a whole Littlest pet shop world by adding on different playsets and more littlest petshop animals. The Littlest Pet Shop Whirl Around Playground is retailed at $30.00. Additional littlest pet shop animals cost $4-$8. So if your child does not already have littlest pet shop animals it might be wise to but at least 2 more, to fill the playset.
As an important reminder to parents, this playset includes tiny pieces which may prove to be a choking hazard to young children. The set comes with two little animals which both feature magnets.
