The Japanese Garden

If you are in search for a calm place to visit for vacation, The Japanese Gardens is it. Located in Portland, Oregon, The Japanese Gardens give the term “relaxation” a whole new meaning. The setting is designed to be calming. The waterfalls are meant to be soothing. There are five different Gardens on 5.5 acres. The names of the Gardens are: Sand Stone Garden, Tea Garden, Strolling Pond Garden, Flat Garden, and Natural Garden. This a beautiful place to ease your mind. There is something for everyone.

Fort Vancouver Historic Park

A historical site with an education area. It is located in Portland, Oregon. The site was a British fur trading operation in the 1800’s. This attraction has a museum and picnic areas. In Portland, this is one of the more popular attractions for tourists.

Crater Lake National Park

A beautiful place for hikers to enjoy the great outdoors. These hiking trails are near Medford, Oregon. The scenery will blow you away. It came about over seven thousand years ago when Mount Mazama erupted.

Astoria Column

The Column is located in Astoria Oregon. If you like to climb and enjoy a great view, this is the place for you. Astoria Column is known as the “crown Jewel” of Astoria. Once you walk up all 164 steps, the view will take your breath away.

Oregon Museum of Science and Industry

Looking for a fun learning experience with your kids? Check out this museum in Portland, Oregon. You and your kids can explore an old Navy Submarine inside and out. The children will be able to do science experiments, and there is also a planetarium.

The Evergreen Aviation Museum

Located southwest of Portland, Oregon this museum has exhibits for airplanes and helicopters. This museum goes beyond teaching people the aviation stories and displaying artifacts. It also focuses on some other human skills, such as science, mathematics, and technology. This would make for a remarkable family vacation.

The High Desert Museum

Bend, Oregon is the location for this museum. There are four different exhibits to keep you busy. The wildlife exhibit has wildcats as well as wildlife shows and tours. Their Living History exhibit will bring old west experience to life for adults and children. In this exhibit, there is a Homestead Ranch and place where people will demonstrate 19th Century Pioneer arts. One of the Indoor exhibits deal with bats. They take you through the history of bats using technology. The last exhibit is the Outdoor exhibit where you can go on the Nature Walk Trail, see horses in the Mustang Corral, and much more.

With all these attractions, one is destined to find enjoyment in the great state of Oregon. People of all ages can do something here and go back home with something to talk about.
