Top Ten R&B; Songs of 2007

Missy Elliot

With this year almost over it is time to look at the top ten R&B; songs of 2007. This was a pretty good year for R&B.; We had some favorites come out with new music and some new artists who are making some noise. So, here is a look at the top ten R&B; songs of 2007.

The number ten song is Anonymous by Bobby Valentino. Anonymous is from Valentino’s sophomore album Special Occasion. Though Anonymous did not get much play on the radio, it was still a nice groove.

Number nine is Teach Me by Musiq. Teach Me is from the album Luvanmusiq. With Teach Me, Musiq sings about how he is looking for his love to teach him to be a better man.

Number eight is Please Don’t Go by Tank. Please Don’t Go is from the album Sex, Love, & Pain. This sexy slow jam is basically about Tank begging the lady in his life not to leave him.

Number seven is Let It Go by Keyshia Cole featuring Missy Elliot and Lil’ Kim. Let It Go is from Cole’s sophomore album Just Like You. Let It Go shows that Cole will have a long career in the music business.

Number six is No One by Alicia Keys. No One is the first single off of Keys latest album As I Am. Once again Keys was able to reach the top of the charts with this single. No One is a pretty catchy tune and it is a head nodder.

Number five is Bed by J. Holiday. Bed is off the debut album Bac of My Lac. This Washington, D.C. native had everyone grooving to this sensual jam. If Holiday can keep making hot songs like Bed, he should be around for awhile.

Number four is Can’t Get Enough of You by Tamia. Tamia has been in the business for awhile. She has always had a good voice and Can’t Get Enough of You continues to prove that. This is the type of song that makes you want to call up your boo.

The number three song is Because of You by Ne-Yo. After having a lot of success with his debut album, Ne-Yo has come back strong with his sophomore album Because of You. The single Because of You is the type of song that makes you want to hit the dance floor with that special someone.

Number two is Lost Without U by Robin Thike. Thike is what you call blue eyed soul. Lost Without U is a real romantic ballad.

The number one R&B; song of 2007 is Irreplaceable by Beyonce. I know there are some guys out there who may not be feeling the song, but I am sure there are many ladies out there who could relate to what Beyonce was talking about. Irreplaceable is from Beyonce’s sophomore album B-Day. Even though I think B-Day is not as good as Beyonce’s first solo album, Irreplaceable is a stand-out cut on the album.

As I said earlier there were quite a few good R&B; songs that came out this year. I am sure there are some songs that I missed that could be included on this list. I believe 2008 should also be a good year with new music from Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, and Janet Jackson coming out.
