Top Ten Motivational Songs of 2007: Country

Country Songs, Top Country Songs

Country music becomes more mainstream each and every year. It may have been ten years ago that many country songs just talked about being complacent and unhappy, or heartbroken. However, today, it’s easier to find a country song that is truly motivational.

Have you realized lately how many more country songs seem to grace the Billboard Top 40 pop charts? Especially in 2007. You’ll find more crossover music than ever before, as country music comes into a style all its own.

Here are the top ten picks for motivational country songs for 2007! This list of course wasn’t too easy to compile, as there are still many country songs about broken hearts and trying to get love back, but I think I have found some motivational country songs from 2007…

1.Before He Cheats, by Carrie Underwood. This song is actually about a girl being upset because her man cheated on her. So why is it a motivational country song? Because she isn’t going to let him do it again. She might have been a fool once, but save this trickery for some other woman. She got revenge! While I don’t ever advocate any type of violence, even to someone’s vehicle, the song is inspiring because it shows that you don’t have to put up with someone treating you wrong.

2. Something More, from Sugarland. I love this song. This song is about finally getting sick of the same old thing, and wanting to experience life to the fullest. The song talks about living life instead of working all day every day. The best line in this motivational country song is “…happiness is something we create…” The song can motivate you to start creating your own happiness for yourself, whether that means quitting your job or just living your life differently!

3. I Just Came Back from a War, by Darryl Worley. Why is this song a top motivational song? It’s motivational because it makes you appreciate living in America, and living free. It shows you that others have to make sacrifices to allow everyone to have this type of freedom. If you were in the war, it motivates you to return to ife as it should be, where people are loved. This song is especially motivational in 2007, with all of the soldiers fighting in Iraq.

4. My Wish, a song by Rascal Flatts. I think this song has the most motivational value when you’re feeling really alone. Listening to the song makes you feel that someone cares about your wellbeing and wishes the best for you. This song is also a motivational song because it’s about making life become what you want it to be, following your heart and dreams. The song lyrics also mention making the best choices when at a crossroad in life, never forgetting the lessons you have learned in the past, and forgiving so you can move on.

5. Johnny Cash, by Jason Aldean. The song Johnny Cash is motivational because it talks about just becoming free and leaving everything behind. Even though this isn’t always realistic, it gives us hope that there is. And, if we can’t find that freedom for ourselves, we can at least listen to someone else sing about how they are making their dreams come true!

6. Tim McGraw’s Last Dollar. If you’re down to your last dollar, you are also somewhat free. Free in that you’re gonna have to do something different because what you’ve been doing hasn’t worked out. If you lose everything, you can do almost anything, really, because now it won’t matter! This is a carefree motivational song aimed at having a good time despite being faced with some major problems.

7. Stand by Rascal Flatts. I had to place this on the top ten motivational country songs of 2007. Why? Because no matter how bad it gets, you’re eventually going to “stand.” You’re going to get so sick and tired of your situation that eventually you are going to do something about it. Life hopefully isn’t going to keep you down forever, no matter what terrible hands you are dealt. If you’re really getting down, listen to this motivational song.

8. So Small, by Carrie Underwood. Anytime you have some big problems that you’re facing, if you listen to this song, it will motivate you to knowing that the problem isn’t that huge afterall. It’s really about finding love or giving love, and not about some insurmountable obstacle. What you’ve been trying to find for a long time has been right in front of you!

9. Measure of a Man, by Jack Ingram. This song is motivational in that it helps you discover that your family is really what matters. When you go down the wrong path, for no matter how long, you still have a family that you belong to, good or bad.

10. Startin’ With Me, by Jake Owen. This song rounds out the top ten motivational country songs of 2007. Why? Because it talks about how you are the source of everything. If you want to change things for the better, start with yourself. Stop blaming everyone else.
