Ohio does not have many ski resorts, but the ones they do have are excellent. And they are conveniently located and easily reachable from Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. If you are used to skiing just in your own state, why not do something different and give the ones in Ohio a try. Alpine Valley is a small resort, but it is packed with so many things to do, you will think you are at one of the larger resorts. There are 11 trails, with 7 lifts, 2 chair and 5 surface.
In addition to Alpine Skiing, they have showboarding, tubing and half pipe and a terrain park and not only daytime but also at night.

Mad River is a nice, family friendly ski resort. It is middle sized, with 23 trails from beginner to expert only with 13 lifts: 6 Chair Lifts, 3 Hand Tows, 2 Rope Tows and 2 Carpet Lifts In addition to the Alpine Skiing there is Snowboarding 3 Terrain Parks. And a new tubing park. They have special kids programs, for the times you want to be indoors, they have a game room with all the latest video games. When you need to take a break from the slopes and re charge your energy with some good food, stop in The Loft for some homemade pizza, or the Café for a burger etc.

Snow Trails is near Mansfield, Ohio’s and has the highest elevation in the state. There are 16 trails rated from beginner to advanced and they have 6 lifts. 2 doubles, 3 triples and a ski carpet.
