Conspiracy Theories, Willie Nelson

If you Google Willie Nelson 9/11, you will get almost 600,000 results to sift through while trying to decide if Willie smoked too much weed before making some controversial 9/11 statements on the radio. In case you did not hear Willie Nelson’s comments, you can listen to the YouTube file of the KVUE 3 Austin report by clicking here. Willie Nelson joins a number of others who question what really happened on September 11, 2001.

In a 2007 telephone poll of 1,000 Americans taken by Zogby International for a pro conspiracy theory web site, it was found that 31% of Americans question the official explanation of 9/11. Among those people, 26% believe that the government knew the attacks were coming and didn’t stop them, and 5% think the U.S. government planned the attacks. This is similar to a 2006 Scripps-Howard poll taken with 1,010 in which 36% of Americans felt it was very likely that government officials either carried out the act themselves or knew about it and let it be carried out for political reasons.

The 9/11 conspiracy theories are no longer limited to viral communication by Internet conspiracy theory “retards” as they were referred to in an episode of South Park. The Zogby poll indicates that 24% of Americans, aged 55 and older believe in some sort of conspiracy theory. These books might be part of the reason the 9/11 Truth Movement is turning legitimate and growing.
